Location, gates and ticket

China Hanyuan Stele Forest is at 15 Longting North Road in Longting District, Kaifeng. It has two common entrances, the South Gate and North Gate, and the South Gate faces Millennium City Park. An adult ticket costs CNY 40. Combination tickets with Longting Park and Tianbo Yang Mansion are available, and the Kaifeng Tourism Annual Pass can be used. Opening hours are about 08:00–22:00; daytime and evening visits may offer different activities.

Suggested visit length

From the South Gate, follow the central axis to the Yellow Emperor Xuanyuan statue, Yangsheng Mountain, and the Confucius statue, allowing 1–1.5 hours. For the stele-forest script game, a rubbing experience, and a full north-to-south route, allow 2–3 hours. Interactive activities and rubbing fees follow the arrangements for that day.

Choose your visit

Stele galleries and calligraphy

The stele corridors stretch for six Chinese li and display calligraphy steles from different dynasties, numbering more than 3,800 pieces. Calligraphy enthusiasts can make the corridors the main stop and choose sections according to their interests; the entire collection is not practical to view in one visit.

Yangsheng Mountain and the central axis

Yangsheng Mountain offers views over the gardens, lakes, and distant city outline. The Yellow Emperor Xuanyuan and Confucius statues stand along the central-axis area. The South Gate short route suits visitors who want to see these named sights first, then decide whether to add the stele corridors and rubbing experience.

Script game and rubbing experience

The stele-forest script game begins with a map and leads visitors to NPCs representing calligraphers such as Liu Gongquan and Su Shi, followed by questions or small games. The rubbing hall offers a paid rubbing experience. NPCs, redeemable gifts, and tasks follow the day's service; the admission ticket does not automatically include these interactive activities.

Build your day

A 1–1.5 hour south-gate route

Enter through the South Gate and follow the central axis to the Yellow Emperor Xuanyuan statue, Yangsheng Mountain, and the Confucius statue. If time allows, continue through part of the stele corridors, then leave through either gate. The South Gate works well as the middle stop of a Longting three-park route or as the connection point on the Millennium City Park side.

Climbing Yangsheng Mountain and walking the stele corridors add distance, so a short visit should complete the central-axis sights first. The waterside courtyard beside Yihong Bridge and the foot of Yangsheng Mountain are useful garden-photography stops; the light depends on the weather.

A 2–3 hour interactive route

Enter through the North Gate, go first to the rubbing hall to collect the map or see whether the script game is running, then follow the task route through the stele corridors and gardens. Finish at the South Gate and continue towards Millennium City Park. The task start time, NPC locations, and redemption arrangements change with the day's programme.

Visitors who want to try rubbing should include the production time and additional fee. If interactive services are limited that day, you can still complete a regular visit through the corridors, Yangsheng Mountain, and the central axis.

Three-park route

Longting Park, Tianbo Yang Mansion, and China Hanyuan Stele Forest can be connected through internal passages. When moving north from Longting's South Gate, Hanyuan can form the later part of the route. The three parks have different themes and opening hours, so entry conditions at each park determine the route.

Combination-ticket validity may be limited to the purchase date. Hanyuan, Longting, and Tianbo Yang Mansion also sell separate tickets. Millennium City Park is on the North Gate side of Hanyuan; after leaving, use the outside roads and do not rely on the other park's ticket for entry.

Get there

Public transport and gates

Bus routes 1, 15, 20, and 30 reach the Longting Park or Tianbo Yang Mansion stops. Walk from the stop to Hanyuan. For a taxi, use “China Hanyuan Stele Forest” as the destination, then choose the South or North Gate according to your route.

Choosing the right entrance

The South Gate faces Millennium City Park and suits a south-to-north central-axis short route. The North Gate works better when you want to start at the rubbing hall and script game, then leave through the South Gate. The two entrances serve different route directions, so confirm which passage is open after buying the ticket.

Know before you go

Ticket and separate access

The adult ticket is CNY 40. Combination tickets and the Kaifeng Tourism Annual Pass follow their specific conditions, and opening hours are about 08:00–22:00. Internal passages between the three parks do not change their separate ticketing; confirm whether a combination ticket must be used on the purchase date.

Dynamic interactive services

The script-game map, NPCs, tasks, in-game banknote redemption, and rubbing experience may change with the day's service. Without the interactive activities, the stele corridors, Yangsheng Mountain, the Yellow Emperor Xuanyuan statue, and the Confucius statue still form a complete regular route.

Walking and evening visit

The corridors are long, and Yangsheng Mountain and the garden areas add walking distance. Longer evening hours do not mean every interactive activity continues into the night. Before leaving, confirm whether you will use the South or North Gate, then arrange outside transport to Hanyuan or another attraction.
