How to Visit
1

Check the mountain weather first

Golden Summit is worth the effort when visibility is good. Heavy fog, rain, or strong wind can remove the view and slow cableway operations.

Tip:Weather matters more here than in the lower temples.
2

Use the standard bus-cableway route

Take the sightseeing bus to Leidongping, walk 30-40 minutes to Jieyin Hall, then ride the cableway to the upper station.

Tip:The short walk is still uphill and can be icy in winter.
3

Visit the statue and Huazang Temple area

Once on top, give time to the 48-meter Samantabhadra statue, Huazang Temple, viewpoints, and safe edges near the cliffs.

Tip:Do not lean over railings or cliff edges for photos.
4

Plan sunrise by sleeping high

For sunrise, stay at Golden Summit or Leidongping the night before. A same-morning trip from the city is not reliable.

Tip:Book lodging early in high season.
5

Protect your return time

Return by cableway, walk back to Leidongping, and catch the sightseeing bus before the relevant station closes for the day.

Tip:Missing the bus is the expensive mistake to avoid.

Insider Tips

Bring a warm layer in every season; the summit is much colder than the base.

Use non-slip shoes in winter or wet weather.

Carry snacks and water, but keep food hidden around monkey areas lower down.

Do not plan tight evening train connections after a Golden Summit visit.

If weather is poor, consider lower mountain temples instead of forcing the summit.
