Treat it as an evening town base
Libo Ancient Town is not a historic town that needs a detailed sightseeing route. It works better as a place for lodging, dinner, walking, and night views. You can walk through during the day, but the better time to plan it is from late afternoon into the evening.
Arrive in the evening, eat first, then walk
After visiting Xiaoqikong, Daqikong, or Yaoshan Ancient Village, return to Libo County and use the ancient town for dinner. After eating, walk along the main street, square, and Zhangjiang riverside to see the lights, shops, and occasional street activity.
Do not treat performances as fixed
The town may have ethnic dance, street parade, or square activities, but performance time and content can change by the day. Treat them as a bonus, not as the reason to change your whole itinerary.
Use it for lodging and transport connections
Staying around the ancient town or Libo County makes dinner easy and keeps the next day's Xiaoqikong transfer practical. You can use local buses or taxis toward Xiaoqikong, but leave extra time for early departures and late returns.
✦Libo Ancient Town is free to enter, and the street area is open all day. Restaurants, shops, bars, and performances keep their own hours.
✦Do not expect a preserved traditional old town. It is closer to a modern cultural tourism commercial district, useful for food and evening walks.
✦Daytime is quieter and has less to do. If your schedule is tight, you do not need to come during the day.
✦There are many dinner choices in the evening, but popular restaurants may require waiting. If traveling with older visitors or children, eat earlier.
✦If you are going to Xiaoqikong the next day, staying around the ancient town is more convenient than staying in a remote county location, but still check your bus or taxi timing in advance.
✦Rain makes the evening walk weaker, and stone paths or riverside walkways can become slippery. Wear shoes with decent grip.
