Meiling is a broad collection of separate mountain attractions, including Changchun Lake, Lion Peak, Hongya Danjing, the Meiling Cloud Cableway, and Moon Bay. Use a specific destination in navigation: “Changchun Lake Scenic Area East Gate,” “Lion Peak Tianshi Pass Ticket Office,” “Hongya Danjing Scenic Area,” or “Meiling Cloud Cableway Lower Station.”
Paid attractions and free areas
Lion Peak admission is about CNY 50, Hongya Danjing is CNY 30, and the Cloud Cableway costs about CNY 130 for a round trip, CNY 80 uphill, or CNY 70 downhill. Changchun Lake and Moon Bay Mountain Park are free areas. Each point has its own ticket or free-entry arrangement, so costs are handled separately.
Opening hours and visit intensity
Meiling has no single timetable for every attraction. Lion Peak commonly operates around 08:00–17:00; Hongya Danjing around 08:30–18:00, with last entry at 17:00; the Cloud Cableway runs about 08:30–18:00 from April to October, with last entry at 15:30, and about 09:00–17:00 from November to March, with last entry at 16:00. Weekend extensions and temporary changes follow the day’s notice. The area combines trails, streams, a cableway, and cultural sites, so one or two points are usually enough for a focused day.

Changchun Lake and Moon Bay
Changchun Lake is a free stream area suited to family water play, a short stream walk, and a break at Shankakali (山咔咔里). Moon Bay Mountain Park is also free, with streams and a glass walkway. Both work well in good weather for visitors who want less climbing, but use the marked safety boundaries around the water.
Lion Peak
Lion Peak centers on mountain trails, steep terrain, and seasonal rapeseed flowers. The small bridges and streams at Shifeng New Village can be added at the foot of the mountain after the hike. Visitors who enjoy walking, mountain views, and a glass walkway can make it a half-day stop; check ticket and Nanchang Culture and Tourism Card eligibility at the time of purchase.
Hongya Danjing and the Cloud Cableway
Hongya Danjing has bamboo groves, an old well, and local history, musical legends, and a quieter cultural setting, making it a good choice for visitors interested in those subjects. The Cloud Cableway offers valley and city views with less climbing. The two can be combined, but their entrances and tickets are separate.

The 2–3 hour cableway and Hongya Danjing route
Start at the Meiling Cloud Cableway lower station and ride in the direction and ticket type operating that day, then continue to the Hongya Danjing entrance at the intersection of Hongya Road and Ziqing Road. Allow time for the bamboo groves, old well, and cultural sites. The two points require driving or a transfer, so calculate that segment as vehicle movement rather than a walk.
The 4–6 hour Lion Peak and Changchun Lake route
In the morning, go to the Lion Peak Tianshi Pass Ticket Office for the trails and glass walkway. Then continue to Changchun Lake East Gate according to road congestion and the group’s pace. Spend the afternoon walking beside the streams, playing in the water, or resting in the free area; allow extra time for mountain roads and parking between the two points.
A half-day at one point
When the weather is unsettled, the group has limited hiking energy, or weekend parking is tight, choose one entrance: Hongya Danjing, the cableway, or Changchun Lake. Check that point’s ticket, hours, and queue after arrival before adding another stop; the Meiling attractions do not form one continuous walking route.
Get there
Public-transport transfers
From Bayi Memorial Station or Dinggong Road South Station (丁公路南站) on Line 1 or Line 3, transfer to buses 169, 217, or 540 toward the Wanli urban area. From there, change to a local route or take a taxi according to the target attraction. The final leg differs by point and buses are infrequent, so plan the return from the exact entrance.
Driving, parking, and mountain roads
The attractions are spread out, and driving makes it easier to move between Changchun Lake, Lion Peak, Hongya Danjing, and the cableway. Mountain roads have many bends, so slow down. Parking can become tight after 10:00 on weekends and holidays; use official car parks, as roadside parking may be penalized.
Know before you go
Streams, glass walkways, and weather
Stones beside the streams at Changchun Lake and Moon Bay can be slippery. Wear shoes with good grip for water play and choose stopping points according to barriers and water flow. Rain, thunderstorms, and high heat can affect the streams, glass walkway, and cableway; a longer cableway schedule does not mean it will operate in severe weather.
Sun, insects, and photography
Summer brings more insects in the mountains, so bring repellent and sun protection. The window view at Xiaoman Coffee, the cableway cabins, and the Changchun Lake stream are all useful photo settings, but weather, reflections, and crowds change the result. Stay behind barriers and out of closed sections when taking photos.
Rest and food
Shankakali (山咔咔里) at Changchun Lake serves coffee, simple meals, and ice cream. Xiaoman Coffee is another place to rest with a mountain view, subject to its daily hours. Food stops are spread out in the mountains, so arrange water and the return trip before going farther; if you continue to Jiangxi Ming and Qing Ancient Dwellings Expo Park, navigate there separately and confirm its ticket and opening hours.
