Plan at a glance
A museum focused on Bronze Age culture in Dongsheng
Ordos Bronze Museum is at 2 Xingsheng Road in Dongsheng District. It focuses on Bronze Age cultures around the Yellow River bend and the grasslands. It is a different venue from Ordos Museum in Kangbashi. When navigating, use the full name “Ordos Bronze Museum” and check the Dongsheng address so you do not end up in Kangbashi.
Plan your time around the galleries by floor
Allow about 1–1.5 hours for the main bronze exhibitions. If you also want to see grassland history and the copper mirror exhibition, allow around 2 hours. Displays and temporarily open areas may change; check the floor guide when you arrive and plan your route accordingly.

Choose your visit
Sixth floor | Bronze culture around the Yellow River bend
The permanent exhibition “Bronze Culture of the Great Bend of the Yellow River” on the sixth floor centers on regional Bronze Age civilizations. Look for named objects such as the gold plaque with fighting tigers and wolves, the bronze plaque with fighting mythical beasts and the camel-patterned bronze plaque. Check the labels and gallery access on site for their current locations.
Fourth-floor grassland history and third-floor mirrors
If you have time, visit the grassland history displays on the fourth floor. If the copper mirror exhibition on the third floor is still open, you can also see mirrors and animal designs. Each gallery has a different focus; follow the day’s floor guide rather than rushing to see everything.
Check temporary exhibition dates and identify replicas
A September 30, 2026 notice from the museum lists the temporary exhibition “Contracts in China: Contract Treasures from Ordos and Ma’anshan” through December 10. If you plan to visit close to or after that date, check whether it has been extended or replaced. The golden crown with an eagle finial on display is a replica; the original is at the Inner Mongolia Museum.
For another Dongsheng visit featuring grassland activities and Mongolian–Han culture, see Jiuchenggong Grassland Cultural Tourist Area.
Build your day
About 1–1.5 hours | Start with the main sixth-floor exhibition
After entering, check the floor guide and elevator location, then go to the sixth floor for “Bronze Culture of the Great Bend of the Yellow River.” Choose the cases that interest you, then follow the museum signs back to the exit. If an area is temporarily closed or under maintenance, use only floors open to visitors; do not assume the elevator route or galleries will always be the same.
About 2 hours | Visit the sixth, fourth and third floors in stages
If you have time, start with the bronze exhibition on the sixth floor and continue to the grassland history displays on the fourth. If the copper mirror exhibition is still open, visit it on the third floor as well. Follow the museum’s floor guide for the day. Take time to read the exhibit information, then leave by the signs. If you need to return to a gallery you have already visited, ask staff whether you will need to pass through ticket control again or follow a different route.
