Plan at a glance
It’s a big park—pick your must-sees first
Ordos Wildlife Park is at No. 1 Tiexisan Yuan Road, Dongsheng District. It covers about 12 square kilometers and has several animal and education areas. Allow 4–5 hours. If you want to take your time in the exhibition areas, panda house and Tianlangyu, set aside most of the day and include travel within the park in your plans.
Distinguish the regular park shuttle from the caged safari vehicle
The regular park shuttle connects the main visitor areas. The caged safari vehicle is a separate experience for viewing animals from inside the vehicle in a free-roaming enclosure. Vehicle types, routes, stops and ticket benefits differ. Before choosing, check the day’s route map and ticket details after you enter.

Choose your visit
Tianlangyu (Wolf Gorge) | Watch the wolves from designated viewpoints
Tianlangyu is one of the park’s main areas. View the wolves from paths, a footbridge or the caged-vehicle route designated as open by the park. Barriers and staff manage the free-roaming area. Stay on visitor routes or inside the vehicle; do not cross barriers or approach the animals on your own.
Petting area | Follow staff instructions for animal encounters
The petting area is a good place to pause with children, and the park may offer designated animal encounters according to its operating plan. Check signs and staff instructions to see whether touching or feeding is allowed, which feed to use and any age restrictions. Do not bring your own food for the animals, and do not assume activities such as holding a lion cub are a regular offering.
Panda house and other animal areas
The panda house is a popular stop. African elephants, giraffes and other land animals are in different areas of the park. Animal activity and whether animals are outside can vary. Check which facilities are open when you arrive, build your route around the animals you most want to see and leave room to adjust.
For a separate indoor collection of Bronze Age exhibits in Dongsheng, see Ordos Bronze Museum.
Build your day
Half-day route | Tianlangyu, petting area and panda house
Enter through the East Gate and check the park-shuttle route first. Then go to the open viewing area at Tianlangyu, continue on foot or by shuttle to the petting area, and finish at the panda house using the day’s connections. To see animals in the free-roaming enclosure, use only the designated caged safari vehicle. This is a separate experience with its own route and ticket arrangements. Never enter the animal enclosure on foot.
Full-day route | Take your time through the park areas
For a longer visit, add the Africa area, Asia area or education facilities to the core route. Follow the park map and work from nearer areas to farther ones to reduce backtracking. Allow time for meals, rest and waiting for the shuttle. Add a show or animal encounter only if it is available that day.
With older adults or young children | Reduce walking
The park covers a large area. If someone in your group has limited stamina, choose two or three priority areas and use the park shuttle to reach them. Check stops, service frequency and the last departure after you enter. If queues are long, it is better to skip a distant exhibit than to rush.
Get there
Navigate to the East Gate area
Search for “Ordos Wildlife Park” in your map app. The address is No. 1 Tiexisan Yuan Road, Dongsheng District. On arrival, follow signs for the East Gate and parking lot. Check the day’s notices for parking fees, available spaces and areas where vehicles may enter.
Recheck the bus route before traveling
The route list published by the municipal transport bureau shows Route 26 serving Ordos Wildlife Park, Jiuchenggong and the Bronze Museum. The list was published in 2024, so check the current operating days, stops, walking route to the East Gate and last return bus before traveling.
Know before you go
Check admission and animal experiences separately
Admission, park transport, the caged safari vehicle and animal encounters may each have separate tickets. Before buying, confirm the admission areas, whether the regular park shuttle is charged, whether the caged vehicle is operating and the conditions for each activity. Admission or an annual pass does not necessarily include every transport service and animal encounter inside the park.
Check the two tourist passes separately
The “Ordos Tourist All-in-One Annual Pass” and the “Inner Mongolia Culture and Tourism Pass” are different products. Before using a pass, check its type, validity period and benefits at the wildlife park. Confirm separately with the scenic area whether it covers the caged safari vehicle or animal encounters.
