First decide whether Dimen is worth a dedicated trip
Dimen Dong Village is near Maogong Town in Liping County, about 45 km from Liping County town. It is more remote than Zhaoxing, Xiasi, or Xijiang. It suits travelers who are already doing a deeper Liping, Zhaoxing, or Congjiang route, not a quick detour from Kaili or Zhenyuan.
Arrange round-trip transport in advance
Public transport to Dimen is limited. Overseas visitors are better served by arranging a car, private transfer, or self-drive route from Liping County town, Zhaoxing, or nearby lodging. The mountain road has many bends, and the return ride should be planned before arrival.
Enter free and walk the core village slowly
Dimen Dong Village can currently be treated as free to enter. After arrival, walk slowly through the main village route for the drum towers, flower bridges, stream, wooden stilt houses, grain barns, and Dimen Eco-Museum. Most visitors can cover the core area in 1-2 hours.
Treat Dong Grand Song as a festival or chance experience
Dimen has Dong Grand Song traditions and festivals such as the Qiansan Gathering, but these are not fixed daily performances. On a normal visit, the more realistic experience is seeing the village space, eco-museum, grain barns, and local life.
Keep lodging and food expectations simple
Accommodation and restaurants inside the village are limited and basic. If you want to stay overnight, choose a local homestay or nearby rural lodging. If comfort and transport matter more, stay in Liping County town and visit Dimen during the day.

✦Transport is the main challenge. A private transfer or pre-arranged car is more practical for overseas visitors than waiting for uncertain buses.
✦Do not expect fixed performances on ordinary days. Dong Grand Song is more likely during festivals, events, or local community moments.
✦Food and lodging choices inside the village are limited. Bring water, snacks, and some cash.
