An indoor aquarium by the old-town coast

An adult online package is about CNY 139, compared with about CNY 170 on site. Children under 6 or under 1.2 m tall, and visitors aged 70 or above, enter free; prices and concessions are handled according to the day's policy.
One-way route and visit length

The West Gate's Dream Jellyfish Palace is a common starting point; after ticket inspection, follow the one-way route. Jellyfish Palace, seal gallery and whale gallery
Dream Jellyfish Palace has blue and purple jellyfish displays that work well for silhouette photos. The seal gallery has seals, sea lions and penguins, while the whale gallery focuses on a sperm-whale specimen and marine education. These areas suit visitors interested in indoor exhibits, marine animals and photography.
Underwater tunnel and shows
The nearly 100-metre, 180-degree underwater tunnel is a main highlight, with fish passing overhead and beside you. Low-angle photos can capture the tunnel's perspective. Shows such as the human-and-shark performance follow the day's schedule; arrive about 20 minutes early for a better viewing position.
Build your day
The 2–3 hour complete route
Enter through the West Gate and Dream Jellyfish Palace, then visit the jellyfish displays, seal gallery, marine-life gallery and whale gallery in sequence. Continue through the underwater tunnel to the freshwater gallery before exiting. The route is one-way and includes many stairs, so it is not suitable for a large stroller.
Photography and crowd timing
Before 10:00 or after 15:00 is usually better for photographing Dream Jellyfish Palace and the underwater tunnel; midday crowds and reflections on the glass are stronger. The middle and sides of the tunnel work well for photos. Keep the center of the escalator clear, and use little or no flash in the dark galleries.
Get there
Metro and bus
Take Metro Line 3 to Huiquan Square Station or People's Hall Station. Leave through Exit C and walk about 8 minutes toward Luxun Park. Buses 26, 312, 316 and 202, among others, stop at “Luxun Park”; walk about 200 metres from the stop.
Entrance and parking
The West Gate is on Laiyang Road, with Dream Jellyfish Palace as the usual starting point. Parking is limited in peak periods, so public transport is easier. Follow the one-way route after entry and confirm the exit direction before leaving.
