Entrance, tickets and hours
Ang’angxi Archaeological Site Museum is at No. 2 Henan Street, Anghuo Highway. Navigate to the museum and register at its entrance. Admission is free, and advance booking is generally not required; visitors register with a document at the entrance. International visitors should confirm in advance whether a passport or another accepted document can be used for registration and entry. Reference hours are Tuesday–Sunday, 8:30–11:30 a.m. and 1:30–4:30 p.m.; the museum is closed on Mondays. It does not admit visitors during the midday break from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., so plan around that closure.
Time inside and nearby
The museum is small; allow about 20–30 minutes for the main exhibition. For both galleries, allow about 1–2 hours. Combining the museum with Ang’angxi Railway Station, Russia Street (Luoxiya Dajie / 罗西亚大街) and the century-old railway overpass takes about 3–4 hours. The nearby streets and the museum exhibitions are separate parts of the visit.

“Stories of Nenjiang Civilization”
The museum’s “Stories of Nenjiang Civilization” gallery focuses on local prehistoric life. Look for microliths, a bone fishing harpoon and a white-agate stone knife to learn about the region’s hunter-fisher culture about 7,000 years ago. This gallery has a different selection of artifacts from the exhibition of the same name at Qiqihar Museum.
Liang Siyong and the archaeological excavations
The exhibits describe Liang Siyong’s 1930 archaeological work in the area and the discovery of Ang’angxi culture. The museum explains the site and its finds, but this does not mean the field excavation areas are open to visitors. Do not enter archaeological locations that are not open to the public.

Visitors interested in prehistoric archaeology, local history and artifacts can make this a short indoor visit. You can also combine the museum with nearby Russia Street and the railway overpass. The museum alone takes about 20–30 minutes; allow additional walking time for the surrounding streets.

Short visit: start with the main gallery
Register, then enter the “Stories of Nenjiang Civilization” main gallery on the right side of the first floor. Prioritize the bone fishing harpoon, white-agate stone knife and other key artifacts, then visit the lobby and second gallery if they are open. The short museum visit takes about 20–30 minutes. If leaving by bus 303 or train, plan your exit around the timetable.
Full visit: both galleries and the surrounding streets
During opening hours, see both museum galleries, then walk to Ang’angxi Railway Station, Russia Street and the century-old railway overpass. Allow about 3–4 hours in total. You can walk around the neighborhood during the museum’s midday closure; no museum entry is possible from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Check which areas of the museum and streets are open separately.
Boundaries of the archaeological site visit
Ang’angxi Archaeological Site refers to the archaeological culture and site group. Visitors can see the museum exhibits according to the museum’s opening arrangements. Excavation areas and parts of the site that are not confirmed as open are not walking routes; do not cross barriers to look for a site entrance.
Get there
Bus, train and driving
Bus 303 from central Qiqihar takes about 30–40 minutes to Ang’angxi, with a reference fare of about CNY 6. Check the stop near the Passenger Transport Hub; the stop name and timetable should be verified for the day. The train takes about half an hour, with a reference fare of CNY 5–9, but departures are infrequent. Driving takes about half an hour, and free parking is available at the museum.
Planning the return trip
Ride-hailing cars are limited in Ang’angxi, and you may need to find a local taxi for longer trips. Check the last bus and return train before setting out. Plan your neighborhood walk around the return time so you are not left there after the museum closes.

Midday break and closing day
The museum is closed every Monday. Tuesday–Sunday, it is open 8:30–11:30 a.m. and 1:30–4:30 p.m., with no entry from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. If arriving in the morning, check entry arrangements before the midday break. Follow the museum’s notice for holiday schedule changes.
Railway neighborhood and supplies
The railway overpass and station are part of an active transport area. Stay on public paths and in areas where visitors are allowed; do not enter the tracks or restricted areas to take photos. Plan visits to Russia Street and the museum separately. Dining options and opening hours in town are limited, so check before setting out and plan your return around the bus or train timetable.
