Choose your entrance first
Mingyue Island has two separate entrances: a ferry pier and a causeway. They use different navigation destinations and are not interchangeable. For the ferry, navigate to “Mingyue Island Pier.” If driving, first confirm that the “Mingyue Island Causeway” is open for the season, then check the ticket and parking arrangements for that entrance.
Tickets, hours and visit length
A ferry ticket combined with admission is about CNY 48 per person as a reference. Admission and parking for drivers are about CNY 15 per person as a reference. Prices vary by entrance and season; check the day’s ticket information and whether booking is required. Reference hours are 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., and last entry may be at 3:30 p.m. Confirm the hours and the ferry’s hourly departures before setting out.
After arriving by ferry, allow about 2–3 hours for the main sights. For Heilongjiang General’s Mansion (黑龙江将军府), Wanshan Palace (万善宫), the deer enclosure and the camping area, with time to rest on the island, allow about 4–5 hours. Ferry waits and transport within the island affect the total time.

Heilongjiang General’s Mansion
The Heilongjiang General’s Mansion is a historical exhibition site on Mingyue Island. Whether it is included in that day’s island ticket, or requires a separate ticket, depends on the day’s ticketing rules. Exhibits cover the generals of Heilongjiang, the life of General Shoushan and Manchu Eight Banners culture. The buildings are reconstructed exhibition spaces, not Qing-era government buildings preserved at their original site.
Wanshan Palace and the island’s natural scenery
The red-walled buildings of Wanshan Palace, woodland, wetlands and island views are among the main things to see. The island is large, and a sightseeing vehicle can reduce walking. You can stop at one or two places, then take a vehicle back to the entrance.
Deer enclosure and leisure facilities
The deer enclosure may be a stop for families. The island also has a camping area and a seasonal small train. Check the day’s arrangements to see whether feeding deer, play facilities and the small train are open and whether they cost extra. Do not cross fences or touch animals outside designated areas.

Short visit: choose one or two stops
After confirming that the pier ferry or causeway is operating, enter the island. If the sightseeing vehicle is running and you want to walk less, you can buy a ticket and take it to one or two stops, such as the deer enclosure, Wanshan Palace or the General’s Mansion. Allow about 2–3 hours. At the end, walk or take a vehicle back to the same entrance and leave according to that day’s transport arrangements. If you miss an hourly ferry, the wait may be about one hour; check the return time after buying your ticket.
Full visit: history and nature in stages
Enter through the pier or causeway. If the sightseeing vehicle is running and you want to walk less, you can first take it to the Heilongjiang General’s Mansion, then continue to Wanshan Palace, the camping area and the deer enclosure. Choose whether to eat or rest on the island according to your stamina. The small train is an optional way to see the island when it is operating. Plan about 4–5 hours, then return to your original entrance using the transport available that day.
Time at the General’s Mansion and return
The General’s Mansion can be one stop for local history. See the exhibits open that day, then use the transport available on site to continue to other areas. Leave through the same entrance you used: ferry passengers return to the pier to board, and drivers return to the causeway parking area.

Ferry to the pier
Take bus 6 from the city to the “Xiushui Jiayuan” stop, then walk about 400 meters to Mingyue Island Pier. Ferries are listed as departing on the hour, but check the day’s notices for waiting times and return departures. Use “Mingyue Island Pier” as your destination; do not navigate to the causeway entrance.
Drive to the causeway
Set your navigation to “Mingyue Island Causeway.” Parking is about CNY 5 per day as a reference. The causeway may close depending on water levels, so confirm whether it is open for the season before setting out. The causeway and ferry pier are separate entrances; navigate according to your chosen way onto the island and return to the same entrance.
Know before you go
Getting around and seasonal changes
The island is large, and walking a full circuit can be tiring. Reference prices are about CNY 20 per person for the sightseeing vehicle, CNY 38 for the small train, and CNY 100–150 per hour for an electric cart. Check the day’s route and prices before paying. The small train may operate only in peak season; there are fewer flowers and some facilities may be closed in winter.
Supplies, animals and ice
The island convenience store and food at the camping area may be places to get supplies, but confirm opening and barbecue arrangements on site. In winter, do not walk onto ice unless its safety has been confirmed. Interact with deer only in designated areas and under on-site rules, and keep children supervised.
