Russia Street is an open historic district in Ang’angxi, with no single ticket gate. You can enter from the street. Public roads are open for walking, but buildings along the route may still be used for work, housing or railway operations, and their interiors may not be open to visitors. Visit length
A short visit from Ang’angxi Railway Station to Russia Street and back takes about one hour. Allow about 2–3 hours to walk the full street, see the exteriors of buildings open to public view and visit the railway overpass. Shops and places to get supplies are limited, so bring water and plan your return before setting out on the longer route.

Ang’angxi Railway Station
Ang’angxi Railway Station was built in 1903 and is one starting point for exploring the area’s railway history. The grey brick walls, dark green roof and platform canopy can be viewed from public areas. The station is still in use; follow site rules when entering or taking photos.
Russia Street and railway buildings
Yellow-walled buildings with green windows line the street, along with historic sites such as the former Chinese Eastern Railway Workers’ Club. Matryoshka sculptures provide landmarks along the way. View offices, homes and places not open to visitors from public roads; do not enter buildings or courtyards without public access.
Wooden railway overpass and memorial sites
The century-old wooden railway overpass and the Soviet Martyrs Cemetery are other stops along the route. View the railway from areas where visitors are allowed to walk. The cemetery is a memorial site; visit quietly and do not pose for photos beside memorial installations.
This walk suits visitors interested in modern railway history, neighborhood architecture and architectural photography. For archaeological artifacts and indoor exhibits, visit Ang’angxi Archaeological Site Museum separately and plan around its own opening hours.

Short visit: station and street entrance
Start at Ang’angxi Railway Station and see the station building from outside. Walk to Russia Street, stop near the street entrance and the “I Love Rossiya” wall (我❤罗西亚), then return the way you came. Allow about one hour. Take photos from public roads and railway areas where walking is permitted; do not enter courtyards or railway zones.
Full visit: walk south to the overpass
From the station, walk south along the street, passing the former Chinese Eastern Railway Workers’ Club, Russian-style homes visible from the public road and other neighborhood landmarks, then continue to the century-old railway overpass. If it is open that day and fits your route, add a stop at the Soviet Martyrs Cemetery. Allow about 2–3 hours. If taking bus 303, plan your return around its reference last service at about 6:00 p.m.; check train departures in advance as well.
Photography and walking boundaries
Afternoon to early evening light is softer for photographs of building exteriors and street scenes. Possible photo stops include the “I Love Rossiya” wall, the station exterior and areas around the overpass where walking is permitted. Do not enter railway tracks, restricted railway areas or non-public station spaces to wait for a train; a train passing through is not guaranteed.

Bus, train and driving
Bus 303 serves Ang’angxi from the “Passenger Transport Hub” area in central Qiqihar, opposite Tianze Life Supermarket. The ride takes about 40–50 minutes one way, with a reference fare of about CNY 6. Actual travel time varies with your boarding stop and road conditions; check the stop and timetable before setting out. The train takes about 30 minutes but departures are infrequent. Driving takes about 35–45 minutes, and a taxi costs about CNY 50 as a reference.
Parking and return
Free parking is available near the street entrance; confirm the location and availability on site. The last bus back is listed at about 6:00 p.m. as a reference. Ride-hailing cars are limited in Ang’angxi and train services are infrequent, so check your return before deciding whether to walk the full route.
Know before you go
This is a neighborhood, not an indoor museum
The former Workers’ Club, homes along the street and other historic buildings may still be used for work or housing. Do not enter buildings that are not open to visitors or private courtyards. Russia Street and Ang’angxi Archaeological Site Museum can be visited on the same trip, but they have different entrances, hours and content.
Supplies, light and railway safety
Dining options are limited. Daobei Shop in Ang’angxi sells a local snack called rouzao, and there are a few restaurants in town; check locations and hours before setting out. Bring water for a longer walk and plan a full meal after returning to the city. Watch for trains and traffic near the railway overpass; do not stop to take photos on the tracks, in restricted areas of the bridge or on roads used by vehicles.
