Location, tickets and hours
Bukui Mosque (卜奎清真寺) is at No. 1 Limao Hutong in Jianhua District, Qiqihar. Navigate to the mosque and look for the entrance on the side. Admission is free and no advance booking is required. Reference hours are 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. daily, but religious activities, repairs or on-site management may temporarily close interior spaces. Check whether visitors are being admitted before setting out.

If the courtyard is not open, you can view the architecture from public areas; allow about 30 minutes. If you are permitted to enter the courtyard and prayer hall and walk to nearby historic buildings, allow about 1.5–2 hours. Confirm the areas open to visitors with staff before entering.

East and West Mosques and Chinese architectural details
The mosque consists of the East and West Mosques, separated by one wall and connected by a corridor. Curved Chinese-style eaves, dougong brackets and painted decoration sit alongside Islamic star-and-crescent motifs. Look for plum, orchid, bamboo and chrysanthemum carvings on the grey-brick walls. The roof of the East Mosque’s yaodian (窑殿) has gilded gourd and crescent ornaments. Two carvings on the side wall, “Liyu Wopeng” and “Tianfang Jiejing,” can be viewed from public areas.
Prayer hall and religious activities
Enter the prayer hall and other buildings only when the mosque’s management permits it. This is an active place of worship: do not watch or interrupt prayers or enter prayer areas without permission. If prayers are under way or the site is temporarily closed, visit only the public areas outside.
Who will enjoy it
The mosque suits visitors interested in Islamic architecture, religious culture and the history of Qiqihar’s old town. If you only want to see the exterior, take the short route. If you hope to enter the courtyard, first check the schedule for religious activities, then decide whether to continue on a nearby walking route.

Short visit: exterior and brick carvings
Find the side entrance near Limao Hutong. From public areas, view the mosque, red walls, eaves and grey-brick carvings, then follow on-site notices to see whether the courtyard is open. Allow about 30 minutes. If the interior is closed, you can continue to the nearby halal food street; do not wait at the entrance or watch people at prayer.
Full visit: courtyard and old-town architecture
If the courtyard is open to visitors, first see the prayer hall and the East and West Mosques in the areas permitted by staff. Then use a map to walk to the museum compound that contains the former Heilongjiang Governor’s Office, or to Wujiao Daode Yuan. Allow about 1.5–2 hours for the full route. The mosque and museum have separate entrances and opening hours.
Prayer times and photography
The red walls, eaves and side-wall carvings can be photographed from public areas; on sunny days, morning or evening light is softer. Do not photograph worshippers or gather at the entrance during prayers. Do not enter the prayer hall to take photos without permission.

Bus and taxi
Buses 101 and 106 serve the “Mosque” stop, followed by a walk to No. 1 Limao Hutong. Check the stop and walking route against the day’s service. A taxi from Qiqihar Railway Station takes about 15 minutes. Navigate to “Bukui Mosque” and look for the side entrance.
Parking
Parking nearby is limited, and driving in the old town may mean circling to find a space. If you do not have a confirmed parking location, take a bus or taxi. Do not block worship paths or entrances used by local residents.

Prayer, temporary closures and indoor access
The reference hours are 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. daily, but access to the prayer hall for general visitors depends on on-site arrangements. Religious activities, maintenance and staff decisions may limit entry. If prayers are under way, stay quiet, wait or view the exterior instead of interrupting them.
If you cannot enter during prayers, view the exterior brick carvings and eaves and finish with the roughly 30-minute short route. Do not wait at the entrance for prayers to end or photograph worshippers.
Halal food and nearby visits
Bukui Halal Old Street has halal options such as shaomai and beef pies. Check which shops are open and their hours on the day. The former Heilongjiang Governor’s Office is in the Qiqihar Museum compound and can be a separate later visit; the two sites do not share tickets, entrances or opening hours.
