Entrance, admission and village boundaries
Hala New Village (哈拉新村) is in Meilisi Daur District, Qiqihar. It is an open village where people live, with no single gate or ticket entrance; enter from the village entrance or a public road. Village roads are free to access. The exhibition hall, cafe and grassland activities have separate operating hours, and activities such as horse riding and go-karts depend on what is open that day.
Time and walking distance
A short visit takes about 1–2 hours to see the village murals and the boardwalk in Kumule Grassland (库木勒草原). Allow about 3–4 hours to visit the Daur Culture Exhibition Hall, take part in grassland activities and see the Nenjiang River bank. The village and grassland stops are spread out; driving or confirming local paid transport can reduce backtracking on foot.

Village murals and camp cafe
Near the village road, the Zhuoyue Journey Camp Cafe (卓越旅程营地咖啡) has a mural wall and a panda-themed rooftop, making it a short stop after entering the village. The cafe’s hours and whether visitors can view the rooftop up close depend on the operator. Take photos only from public roads and areas open to visitors.
Daur Culture Exhibition Hall
The exhibition hall introduces Daur history and the village setting. Confirm its opening hours separately. Follow the exhibits and interpretation in the hall; residents’ daily lives are not performances. Ask permission before photographing residents or private courtyards.
Kumule Grassland and the Nenjiang River bank
Kumule Grassland has a boardwalk, open grassland and distant pastures, and is suited to a walk and views. On a clear afternoon or evening, the light is softer. During the grazing season, if cattle or sheep are present, observe and photograph them from a distance in public areas. Horse riding, go-karts and the grassland train may cost extra and can be affected by weather; check routes, duration, insurance and safety requirements. These activities are not part of village admission.

Short visit: village road and grassland boardwalk
Navigate to Hala New Village and view the mural wall and panda-themed rooftop from public areas along the village road. Then drive or walk to Kumule Grassland and walk part of the boardwalk. Allow about 1–2 hours. The walking distance between the two stops is not specified; use a vehicle if traveling with children or anyone who cannot walk far.
Full visit: exhibition hall, grassland and riverbank
Start at the village road and murals, then visit the Daur Culture Exhibition Hall to learn about local history. Continue to Kumule Grassland and choose whether to ride a horse, drive a go-kart or take the small train. Finish with a view of the Nenjiang River bank. If you plan to camp, use a clearly designated camping area and confirm that it is open and what rules apply that day. Allow 3–4 hours. Drive or arrange local transport between the village and grassland; a farmhouse restaurant nearby may be an option for lunch.
Grassland activities and the return trip
Horse riding is about CNY 50–100 per circuit as a reference. Before riding, confirm the route and duration of a circuit, whether safety equipment is included and the rules for children. Bus 307 has limited return services, so check the last bus and stop for the day. If arriving by taxi, arrange the return vehicle in advance as well.

Bus and navigation within the village
Take bus 307 near Wanda Plaza; the ride to the “Hala New Village” or “Hala New Village Gas Station” stop takes about 20–30 minutes, with a reference fare of about CNY 6. After getting off, walk along the village road as planned. Grassland stops are spread out, so check whether you will need another ride before setting out.
Taxi, driving and parking
A taxi takes about 40–50 minutes and costs about CNY 40–80 as a reference; a return car may not be readily available. Driving offers more flexibility. Free parking is available in the village and near the grassland; park only where permitted and do not block residents or farm vehicles.

Hala New Village is a lived-in community with public roads. Respect residents’ daily lives and do not enter private courtyards. Ask before photographing residents; do not stage photos of local clothing or daily life. Confirm the exhibition hall and cafe hours separately before setting out.
Activity fees, meals and walking
Horse riding, go-karts and the small train are charged separately; confirm the price, route and safety requirements before paying. Queues may form on weekends and public holidays. Douchangsheng Tofu Shop and farmhouse restaurants near the grassland may be dining options; check whether they are open and serving guests. Follow signs to see whether grassland outside the boardwalk is open, and do not cross fences or enter fields.
