Location, tickets and opening
Yalu River Rafting is about 100 meters east of Jinshewan Ethnic Village (金蛇湾民族村) in Nianzishan District. Navigate to “Yalu River Rafting,” then follow signs to park and buy tickets. The reference walk-up ticket price is about CNY 48 per person, with online discounts from about CNY 39. How much time to allow
The rafting section is about 12 kilometers and takes about 2–3 hours on the water. Allow at least 2–3 hours including ticketing, the shuttle to the launch point, gear and departure from the site. For a separate visit to Jinshewan Ethnic Village, allow half a day. The journey from central Qiqihar is long; check your route and travel time using the day’s navigation and road conditions.

Choose your visit
The 12-kilometer river route
The rafting route is about 12 kilometers, with both rapids and calmer sections; time on the water is about 2–3 hours. Water levels, weather and boat dispatch may change the open section. Before buying a ticket, confirm the day’s start and finish points, water conditions and shuttle arrangements.
Who will enjoy it
This suits visitors who want a longer summer rafting trip and are comfortable with a group water activity. Rapids, capsizing and clusters of boats can all present risks. Consider carefully whether to take part if you are not comfortable with rough water, crowds or uncertain shower facilities.
Jinshewan Ethnic Village
Jinshewan Ethnic Village is about 100 meters from the rafting site and can be a separate short stop afterward, making a half-day outing. The village visit is separate from the river activity; confirm on site what is included with the rafting ticket or shuttle service.
For a separate winter visit in Nianzishan, see Aoyue Nianzishan Ski Resort.
Build your day
Short visit: shuttle to the launch point and raft
At the entrance, first check the day’s water level, open section, ticket price and safety equipment. Buy your ticket and take the shuttle to the launch point. Wear a life jacket and helmet as required by the operator, then raft about 12 kilometers for 2–3 hours to the service area at the finish. Before paying, confirm whether the shuttle is included and how to return to the parking area.
Half-day visit: village after rafting
After rafting, you can visit Jinshewan Ethnic Village separately if time allows. Check a same-day map and on-site directions for the actual distance and transport from the rafting finish to the village. Avoid adding distant attractions to the rafting day; confirm your return vehicle first, then plan meals and time in the village.
Choosing a time slot
Typical operating hours are 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.; rafting and shuttle departures may stop before closing. On weekends, ticketing, shuttle queues and showers may take time. After you arrive, ask about the last departure and pickup from the finish so you can plan beyond the time spent on the water.
Get there
Driving and navigation
Navigate to “Yalu River Rafting.” On arrival, you will be about 100 meters east of Jinshewan Ethnic Village; follow on-site signs to the entrance. Free parking is available, but spaces may be limited in peak season. Arrive early and confirm where to leave your vehicle.
Public transport and the return trip
There is no direct bus from central Qiqihar, so driving is the most practical option. It can be difficult to find a taxi for the return trip in Nianzishan. If you are not driving, arrange round-trip private transport or a pickup before buying rafting tickets.
Know before you go
Safety gear and rapids
Wear a life jacket and helmet throughout as required, hold the raft’s side handles with both hands and follow staff directions. Rapids can cause capsizing, and rafts may bunch together; do not chase or collide with other boats. Flip-flops are unsuitable. Wear non-slip shoes and bring a full change of clothes.
Water conditions, queues and showers
Water levels and weather affect whether rafting operates; confirm conditions and operations before buying a ticket. Ticketing, shuttle waits and showers may have queues on weekends. On arrival, confirm pickup from the finish and shower arrangements.
Sun protection, phones and food
Glare off the water is strong. Use sun protection and a waterproof phone pouch; bring a change of clothes, non-slip shoes and toiletries. Grilled sausages and wheat-gluten snacks may be sold along the way or at the finish; availability and prices vary. If you need a full meal, check whether nearby farmhouse restaurants are open.
