Location and valley access
Wolong Valley is at No. 06 Shangcun, Dazhangshan Township, Wuyuan County. Enter through the Dazhangshan Wolong Valley Visitor Center. By car, navigate to “Dazhangshan Wolong Valley Visitor Center”; parking is free, and the main sightseeing area follows the valley.
From Wuyuan Railway Station, a local bus takes about 1 hour and costs about CNY 14–19. Ride-hailing is unreliable in the mountains, so public-transport users should arrange the return ticket and pick-up point before starting the walk.
Tickets, cableway and time
The ticket is about CNY 50–55. Current hours are about 08:00–17:30, with last admission at 16:30; booking online in advance is recommended. The cableway costs about CNY 50 one way or CNY 100 round trip, and its operation and ticketing method follow the day's on-site arrangement.
To see the waterfalls, pools and bridges in full, take the cableway uphill and walk down the valley for about 2–3 hours. Walking uphill and returning by the same route takes about 2.5–3 hours and requires more effort.

Waterfalls and valley scenery
Bailong Pu (白龙瀑, White Dragon Waterfall) drops more than 100 metres, while Xiaolong Pu (小龙瀑, Little Dragon Waterfall) has a concentrated flow that may produce a rainbow in the spray on sunny days. Dalong Pu (大龙瀑, Great Dragon Waterfall) drops about 240 metres and is one of the valley's highest waterfalls; after rain, its flow and spray increase, making the viewing platforms good places for an upward shot. The visual effect depends heavily on recent rainfall.
Bailong Pu is a quieter place to pause, and the clear water at Wolong Tan (卧龙潭) works for close-up photography. Nearby Konghou Qiao (箜篌桥) frames silhouettes and reflections in the stream valley. Continue to Shuilian Pu (水帘瀑, Water Curtain Waterfall), where the path behind the falls gives a view looking out through the water curtain.
Water play and a light hike
There are shallow sections in the valley where you can briefly play in the water if they are open and safe. Adults should watch children and keep away from deep water, fast currents and slippery edges. The valley suits visitors interested in waterfall photography, a light hike and nature observation more than anyone seeking continuous commercial facilities.

Build your day
Cableway up, valley down
Confirm that the cableway is operating at the Visitor Center, ride uphill, then follow the wooden path downhill through Dalong Pu, Xiaolong Pu, Wolong Tan, Konghou Qiao, Bailong Pu and Shuilian Pu. The route is mainly downhill and takes about 2–3 hours for the core sights.
Look at the overall flow first at Dalong Pu, slow down for photos at Wolong Tan and Konghou Qiao, and leave Shuilian Pu for the lower section. From the exit, follow the signs towards the Visitor Center or parking area; do not return to the cableway upper station.
Walking out-and-back route
If you do not take the cableway, walk uphill from the entrance along the valley path, reaching the main waterfalls or Wolong Tan according to your stamina, then return the same way. The full out-and-back route takes about 2.5–3 hours and suits visitors who prefer to stay on one trail and are comfortable with sustained uphill walking.

Driving and parking
Navigate to “Dazhangshan Wolong Valley Visitor Center”; free parking is available. Slow down after entering the mountain area and follow the road signs. After parking, start counting the cableway and walking time from the Visitor Center.
From Wuyuan Railway Station and returning
The local bus from the square in front of Wuyuan Railway Station costs about CNY 14–19 and takes about 1 hour. Return vehicles are scarce in the mountains, so confirm the return ticket or waiting point on arrival instead of trying to find a ride after leaving.
Know before you go
Rain, slippery paths and waterproofing
Waterfalls are stronger after rain and during the high-water period from May to July; after a long dry spell, Dalong Pu and the other falls may look much smaller. Spray is heavy near Dalong Pu, so a waterproof phone pouch, disposable raincoat and spare clothes are useful.
Moisture, moss and slippery surfaces are common on the paths. Wear shoes with good grip or sandals designed for traction. Play in the water only in open shallow areas, away from fast currents, deep pools and slippery waterfall edges.
Food and onward travel
Food inside the scenic area is limited and may be expensive, so carry water and simple snacks. After the visit, you can return to Wuyuan County for a meal; the valley is on Wuyuan's northern route, and continuing to another attraction requires a fresh estimate of the mountain-road travel time.
Confirm the ticket, cableway, opening hours and return vehicle arrangements for the day. Choose the cableway-up, valley-down route or the walking round trip as separate options so the effort and the return transport are clear before you leave.
