Location and visit style

Wunvzhou Resort is at No. 8 Wengong North Road in Wuyuan County. Enter through the Visitor Center. The resort combines waterside buildings, streets, towers and evening programmes, so its main appeal is the mix of lights, lake views and live entertainment; it works best as an afternoon-to-evening stop.

The public areas are open throughout the day, while most shops and performances operate around 09:00–21:00. The Baoyu Pagoda, Wuxian Lake and waterside buildings take about 2 hours for a focused night visit. Allow about 4–5 hours if you also want a meal and some performances.

Tickets and evening hours

An adult ticket is CNY 110 and a discounted ticket is CNY 80; booking online in advance is recommended. When buying, confirm separately what is included in the resort admission ticket, accommodation or any performance combination.

Entering in the late afternoon is a good way to experience the whole transition from daylight to evening. Start with the buildings and streets, then wait for the lake area to light up; the timing and operation of outdoor projects such as Datiehua and fireworks shows follow the day's programme.

Baoyu Pagoda, Wuxian Lake and waterside buildings

Baoyu Pagoda is the main landmark for an evening walk. Along Wuxian Lake, you can see waterside pavilions, reflections and changing lights. Walking around the lake gives a better sense of the resort's layout than following a single performance from one spot.

Wenchang Bookstore is a floating-style waterside reading pavilion, while Huishi Street centres on stone paving, red lanterns and shops. The first works well for silhouettes and book-wall details; the second is better for walking, snacks and street photography.

Which performances to see

Datiehua (打铁花, iron-flower performance), Huohu (火壶, fire-pot performance), fireworks and fish-lantern performances make the evening more visual and atmospheric. Visitors interested in night photography, traditional-style clothing or a short outdoor show with family members can choose a suitable stopping point around the lake and squares.

Datiehua and Huohu are public performances that may be arranged inside the resort and usually do not require a separate performance ticket. Meet Wuyuan is a separately ticketed theatre production. Confirm the schedules and admission arrangements for the two types of programme separately.

For a daytime mountain-village route nearby, see Wuyuan Huangling Scenic Area.

Build your day

4–5-hour evening route

Enter through the Visitor Center at about 16:00, walk through Huishi Street, then continue to Wuxian Lake for the waterside buildings. Around 17:30, you can consider a rowing boat if it is operating; confirm the day's service and waiting time on site.

As the light fades, continue to Baoyu Pagoda, Wenmo Square or the Wuxian Lake waterfront, and choose Datiehua, Huohu or other performances from the day's programme. After the show, keep walking around the lake for night photography, then eat or leave; the full visit takes about 4–5 hours.

2-hour core night route

When time is limited, go straight from the Visitor Center to Baoyu Pagoda and Wuxian Lake, photograph the waterside buildings, then continue to Huishi Street or Wenchang Bookstore. If the day's schedule fits, add one outdoor performance and leave directly afterwards.

If the programme changes at short notice, keep Baoyu Pagoda, Wuxian Lake and the waterside buildings as the core sequence, then decide whether to wait for a performance. Even when fireworks or iron-flower shows are cancelled because of weather, this route still gives you a clear evening walk.

Get there

From Wuyuan Railway Station to the Visitor Center

After leaving Wuyuan Railway Station, take the tourist shuttle for about CNY 19, or take a short taxi ride of roughly 12 minutes. Use “Wunvzhou Resort Visitor Center” as the navigation target, then follow the day's parking directions.

Tourist buses to Huangling leave from outside Wunvzhou. The fare is about CNY 19 and the ride takes about 1 hour. Timetables change, so if you also need to catch Huangling's cableway or an evening programme, confirm the connection before setting out.

Parking and moving around the resort

The resort has a parking area; ask about the current fee on arrival and follow the on-site parking signs. Inside, the lakefront, streets and squares are mainly connected on foot. For a scheduled performance, include both the waiting area and the time needed to move with the crowd.

Know before you go

Programmes, weather and crowds

Datiehua, Huohu, fireworks and fish-lantern performances can change with weather, season and weekend arrangements. Rain, fog or wind may also lead to an outdoor programme being changed or cancelled. Before leaving, look at the day's timetable in the Xinbang Travel mini program or another current ticketing channel, then check for updates after entering.

Popular shows can bring early seat-saving, crowded lakefronts and queues after the performance on festivals and weekends. For photos of Baoyu Pagoda and the waterside buildings, walk around once to learn the positions first, then choose a waiting spot from the programme and keep the return journey flexible.

Food and the separate theatre show

Food choices inside the resort are relatively limited. For a full meal, consider a farmhouse restaurant near Xiangao Ancient Town after leaving, or Sisanjian in Wuyuan County. If you plan to see the separate theatre production, check its ticket, admission time and seat information separately.

The CNY 110 Wunvzhou adult ticket is not automatically the same as a Meet Wuyuan theatre ticket. Accommodation, combination products and discounted tickets also follow their own purchase terms. Public performances follow the resort's schedule, while the theatre show requires the corresponding performance ticket.
