Location and route direction
Jiangling is in Jiangling Village, Xitou Township, Wuyuan County. Use “Jiangling Mountain Visitor Center” or Jiangling Scenic Area as the navigation target. The scenic-area road runs one way downhill from the mountain top, so the visit also starts high and finishes at the colourful flower fields below; drive in the downhill direction and photograph the stops in sequence.
The main appeal is the layered view of terraces and valleys, while the flowering season is only one seasonal window. When the fields are in bloom, the broad colours are the focus; at other times, the tea gardens, rice paddies and mountain layers remain part of the landscape.
Ticket and time needed
Current opening hours are about 07:30–18:00. A temporary single-site discount of about CNY 20 applies from August 22 through December 31, 2026; after the discount ends, follow the scenic area's new ticket notice.
After buying online, complete document verification for the ticket type selected. Visitors using a passport or another overseas document should carry the original and follow the booking platform's or on-site instructions for an exchange or verification.
The downhill route from Viewpoint 1 to the foot of the mountain takes about 2–3 hours. A short visit to the high panorama and Jinji Baoxiao takes about 1–1.5 hours. Add the mountain drive, possible flower-season queues and the pick-up or onward transfer after reaching the bottom.

Mountain-top panorama and terrace layers
Viewpoint 1 is at the top of the mountain and looks across the valley, terraces and villages. It is suited to mist, early-morning angled light and wide landscape views. If sunrise is the goal, plan it only when the scenic area explicitly offers early entry. Viewpoints 2 and 3 sit along the downhill road, with the view gradually shifting from a broad panorama to closer relationships between terraces and villages.
Jinji Baoxiao and the flower fields below
Jinji Baoxiao (金鸡报晓) is an easy-to-miss viewpoint where villages, terraces and ridgelines come together. Continue downhill to Daocaoren Leyuan (稻草人乐园) and Viewpoint 4, then reach the colourful flower fields at the foot of the mountain. The photographic interest lies in the changing layers along the descent, rather than in staying at a single platform.
What remains outside the flowering season
After the rapeseed flowers fade, Jiangling shifts to the green of the tea gardens, the summer tones of the rice paddies and the colours of autumn rice. Visitors who enjoy scenic drives, morning mist or places with fewer commercial facilities can come outside the flower season, focusing on terraces and valleys instead of a flower sea.

Build your day
2–3-hour downhill route
Drive to Viewpoint 1 at the mountain top, then visit Viewpoints 2 and 3 in order before continuing to Jinji Baoxiao, Daocaoren Leyuan, Viewpoint 4 and the flower fields below. Follow the one-way road downhill, stopping only where permitted; the full route takes about 2–3 hours.
Photograph the valley panorama at Viewpoint 1 first, and save the closer views and flower fields for the lower section so the scenery changes as you go. At the foot of the mountain, follow the day's departure directions and confirm where to meet a pick-up, taxi or onward transport.
1–1.5-hour short route
With limited time, start at Viewpoint 1 for the panorama and then follow the downhill direction to Jinji Baoxiao for photos. Allow about 1–1.5 hours. If traffic is heavy or someone in the group is not comfortable with a long drive, finish after these two stops.

Driving and the mountain road
Driving is the practical way to visit Jiangling. Go directly to the mountain-top Visitor Center, then follow the one-way road downhill. The mountain road has many bends, and traffic increases during the flower season; aim to arrive before 09:00 and drive slowly within the day's traffic controls.
Public transport from Wuyuan Railway Station
From Wuyuan Railway Station, a local bus to the lower Visitor Center costs about CNY 17 and takes about 1 hour. After arriving at the bottom by public transport, follow the day's shuttle or walking arrangement to reach the mountain top; its stop order differs from the self-drive route.
Know before you go
Flower season, weather and photography
The rapeseed flower season is usually from mid-March to early April, but the exact progress depends on the weather. Cloud, morning mist and sunshine change the colours and layers of the terraces, so set the photography time around the landscape in season.
The viewpoints and mountain road require getting in and out of the vehicle and short walks. Do not stop in a one-way lane or on a bend for photos. The flower fields below are at the end of the route; confirm the vehicle or shuttle direction before leaving so you do not take the wrong way back.
Food and supplies
Food inside the scenic area is mainly farmhouse cooking, with variable taste and opening hours. Carry water and a few simple snacks if needed. Jiangling Yuntai Rongdong Restaurant (江岭芸薹溶洞餐厅) is beside Viewpoint 1, and Pinghu Fish Restaurant (平湖鱼馆) is an option at the foot of the mountain; confirm current opening hours on arrival.
Ticket prices, flower conditions, viewpoint access and road traffic follow the current seasonal arrangement. If you use a Wuyuan combination pass, confirm its dates and covered attractions separately; Jiangling's one-way road should not be mixed with the entrance flow of the old villages.
