Location and admission
Wangxian Valley is in Wangxian Township, Guangxin District, about 50 km from Shangrao city. Admission is handled at a single Visitor Center, and the route through the valley and building clusters starts there.
The current standard adult ticket is about CNY 140; promotional prices follow the booking channel, and student and senior discounts follow the ticket page. Opening hours are about 09:30–23:00, ticket sales stop at 20:30 and entry stops after 21:00. Lights usually come on around 18:30, but the day's schedule can change.
How much time to allow
The main buildings and bridges from late afternoon into the evening take about 2–3 hours. Allow about 4–5 hours for the daytime canyon, streets, cliffside walkway and performances. Entering around 16:00 usually lets you experience daylight, sunset, blue hour and the lit-up buildings in one visit.

Daytime canyon and paths
Qingyun Qiao (青云桥), Sandieshui (三叠水), the stream and waterfalls form the daytime walking section. Start with the water scenery, then continue along Baiwei Jie (百味街) and Zuofang Jie (作坊街) towards the cliffside area. The architecture and streets are deliberately planned as a scenic setting, so the key experience is the combination of the canyon path, cliffside buildings and evening lights.
Baihe Ya (白鹤崖) and the twin bridges at night
From the Baihe Ya cliff viewpoint, you can look down over the cliffside buildings and valley, making it a good place to watch the light change in the late afternoon. Lanyue Qiao (揽月桥) is better for closer night portraits, while Baige Qiao (百舸桥) can frame the stream, twin bridges and cliffside village in one wide view.
Performances and who will enjoy it
The valley may arrange Nuo opera, a live Han-wedding performance and a bonfire party. Choose the location and time from the day's programme. It suits visitors who enjoy night photography, traditional-style buildings and a lively atmosphere; visitors with limited mobility or little tolerance for holiday crowds should shorten the route.
Build your day
2–3-hour core route
Enter at the Visitor Center, cross Qingyun Qiao and follow the right-bank path upstream to the Baihe Ya viewpoint. Continue to Lanyue Qiao and Baige Qiao for night photography, then leave towards the exit. Entering after 16:00 lets you see the late-afternoon view at Baihe Ya and wait for the lights around the twin bridges.
Lanyue Qiao works for photographing the bridge opening and cliffside lights, while Baige Qiao is better for a wide panorama. The blue hour, about 15–30 minutes after sunset, changes quickly, so follow the exit signs after taking photos.
4–5-hour clockwise route
Start at the Visitor Center, pass Qingyun Qiao and Sandieshui, then choose Baiwei Jie or Zuofang Jie before continuing to the cliffside walkway and Baihe Ya. As it gets dark, head to Lanyue Qiao and Baige Qiao, finish at Yangfu Guangchang (杨府广场) for the day's bonfire information, and return to the exit. The full loop takes about 4–5 hours.
This clockwise loop combines streets, the stream valley, cliffside paths, a viewpoint and the night-view area. If performance times change, keep Baihe Ya and the twin bridges in the route order, then decide whether to wait for a show from the programme.
An early visit the next day
If your accommodation product allows re-entry the next day, enter soon after opening to use the quieter morning for the valley, streams and buildings. Confirm whether re-entry is included and what the next-day admission rules are when booking the accommodation.
Get there
Direct bus from Shangrao Railway Station
Walk from Shangrao Railway Station to the nearby East Bus Station and take the direct scenic-area bus. The ride takes about 1 hour and costs about CNY 30. A taxi or shared ride from Shangrao Railway Station costs roughly CNY 100–150 per vehicle and also takes about 1 hour.
Driving and holiday parking
On ordinary days, navigate to “Wangxian Valley Visitor Center Parking Lot.” During holidays, follow the traffic directions to Zhangjian Parking Area (漳涧停车场) at the foot of the mountain and transfer to the shuttle bus. The final mountain-road section can be congested for hours; parking and shuttle arrangements follow the day's traffic control.
Know before you go
Lights, performances and the return
The approximate 18:30 lighting time and 21:15 bonfire time are planning references only; use the day's programme for the final schedule. Holiday return shuttles can be under pressure, so confirm the return vehicle and last departure before joining evening activities. You can also leave after the first bonfire if the crowd makes a later departure impractical.
Admission, viewpoints, bridges, food and the exit can all queue, with the twin bridges especially crowded after the lights come on. Night paths and stone paving have limited lighting and uneven sections; older adults and children should stay with their companions and wear shoes with good grip.
Food and nearby stops
The valley has many snack options, while full meals may be relatively expensive. Outside, you can look at Xingfu Zhijia Restaurant, Baiwei Renjia Private Kitchen or Shanwe Restaurant in Huatan Town. Zhuxi Old Street, about 20 minutes from Wangxian Valley, can fill another half-day.
Confirm the ticket, lights, programmes, parking and shuttle for the day, and keep a clear exit route in the itinerary. Night views also depend on weather and visibility, so do not make an uncertain performance the condition for catching your return transport.
