Open beach and swimming hours
Weihai International Bathing Beach is at No. 178 Beihuanhai Road, Huancui District. The public beach is free and does not require a reservation. The designated swimming area lists reference hours of 08:00–20:00, while the non-swimming shoreline can be used for walks all day; swimmers should stay inside the official area marked by buoys.
The beach is large. Allow 1–2 hours for a short route, or about 3–4 hours for a coastal route combining Huojuba Street, the quieter eastern beach and Jinwan Bay Pier. Huojuba Street is a separate public street leading to the beach, so plan the street, beach and swimming area as distinct parts of the visit.

The marked swimming area and eastern beach
The official buoy-marked swimming area suits swimming and shallow-water activities, and families with children should stay inside the managed area. The eastern end of the beach is relatively quieter, making it better for walking, sea views and open-beach photography; outside swimming hours, you can continue along the shore.
Jinwan Bay Pier and sunset
Jinwan Bay Pier works well as the final stop on a beach route for sunset or the coastal lights after dark. The bathing beach suits visitors who want sea views, family beach time or urban coastal photography; water activities and shade facilities follow the services available on site and are not included in free public-beach entry.

A 1–2 hour short route
Enter from the Huojuba Street side, walk first to the western end of the beach, then continue east along the shore before returning by the same route or a nearby road. This short route focuses on the street-to-sea view, beach and coast; choose swimming and water activities separately according to the bathing beach's daily services.
A 3–4 hour coastal route
Visit Huojuba Street in the morning for photographs, have lunch nearby, then spend the afternoon at the eastern beach and finish at the beach or Jinwan Bay Pier for sunset. Holiday parking and departure traffic can be heavy, so public transport or arranging parking early makes the return easier to manage.
Get there
Bus and driving
Buses 7 and 90 stop at Huojuda Mansion or International Bathing Beach. Drivers should navigate to “Weihai International Bathing Beach Parking Lot.” There are many spaces, but holidays and evenings can be congested; you can also use a marked roadside space nearby and walk to the beach.
After walking from Huojuba Street to the beach, move around the bathing area on foot or use a beach electric cart if one is available on site. Leave vehicles in designated parking areas and enter the swimming zone and beach edge on foot.
Know before you go
Swimming safety and water activities
Swim only inside the official buoy-marked area, as the water outside may have currents. Families with children should stay in the shallow, managed area. Prices and water conditions for diving activities solicited on the beach may be unclear, and visibility can change during the day; ask about the exact activity and price before paying.
Parking and beach spending
Parking lots around the bathing beach and Huojuba Street may queue when leaving on holidays or in the evening, so include both parking and exit time in your plan. Shade-umbrella rental is listed at a reference CNY 80–200 per use, with different operators charging differently; confirm the price before using one.
