Coastal viewpoints and the transfer point
Maotou Mountain is along Weihai's Coastal Ring Road and consists of several coastal viewpoints. Use “Ban Yue Bay North Shore Parking Lot” for both navigation and parking. The viewpoint area lists reference hours of 06:30–20:30, is free and requires no reservation; private cars cannot drive directly to the viewpoints and must transfer at the parking lot.
The sightseeing bus is listed at a reference CNY 20 per person and can be used multiple times that day. Visiting Viewpoints 2 and 3 takes about 1.5 hours; adding Viewpoint 10 and other platforms takes about 3–4 hours. Parking spaces and bus capacity can be tight in peak periods.

Viewpoints 2, 3 and 10
Viewpoint 2 is for the mountain profile and a broad coastal view, Viewpoint 3 has a semicircular cliffside boardwalk, and Viewpoint 10 has orange containers and cat-themed installations. These three viewpoints are the best starting set for photographers, couples and visitors who want coastal scenery.
Morning light works well at Viewpoint 2 for sunrise, Viewpoint 3 suits evening sea and silhouette photographs, and Viewpoint 10 is more flexible for family and portrait photography during the day. Travel between platforms by sightseeing bus and short walks.

A 1.5-hour core route
Take the sightseeing bus from Ban Yue Bay North Shore Parking Lot to Viewpoint 3, photograph the cliffside boardwalk and sea, then take the bus back to the parking lot. If you have limited stamina or only want the core sea views, add Viewpoint 2 according to the day's bus stops.
A 3–4 hour full route
Take the bus from the parking lot to Viewpoint 2 for the mountain profile, then continue to Viewpoint 3 for the cliffside boardwalk and Viewpoint 10 for the orange containers and cat-themed installations. If time and energy allow, continue to Viewpoints 12 and 14 before taking the bus back to Ban Yue Bay North Shore Parking Lot.

Parking and transfer
Drivers can reach Ban Yue Bay North Shore Parking Lot, then transfer to the scenic area's sightseeing bus; do not use Viewpoint 3 or another viewpoint name as the parking destination. The lot may fill in peak periods, and you may still need to wait for a bus after parking.
You can try taking a taxi to the north-shore parking lot or a designated viewpoint, but ride-hailing cars and taxis are limited in peak periods. Plan the return from the parking lot; viewpoints are not reliable pickup points.
Know before you go
Peak-period limits and weather
Core viewpoints such as 3 and 10 can be crowded in peak periods. Buses may be full, and the time allowed at each stop can change with the day's arrangements. Wind and sea fog along the Coastal Ring Road can reduce visibility; take care around railings and wet surfaces when photographing the coast.
Food and route boundaries
Food options near the viewpoints are limited, while Ban Yue Bay beach is a better place to replenish water and have a simple meal. To photograph Huojuba Street or visit Weihai International Bathing Beach, travel separately to the urban coast.
