Treat Jilongbao as a lakeside photo and leisure stop
Jilongbao is a European-style castle by Wanfeng Lake, good for distant photos, lake views, and a short castle visit. Ctrip lists opening hours as 08:30-18:00, with last entry at 17:30, and the common ticket price as CNY 60. Boat rides and other activities are separate.
Tip:The core value is the castle and lake setting, not a large theme park. Do not expect many mature amusement facilities.

Go in the afternoon for softer light
At midday, the light is harsh and the lake and castle can look washed out. Afternoon to early evening is better for photographing the castle, bridge, and lake layers. If you want night lighting, stay later, but do not leave the indoor castle visit until after last entry.
Tip:For castle views, you do not need to enter every paid add-on. Distant lakeside and bridge angles also matter.

Decide in advance whether to take a boat
Jilongbao can be paired with a Wanfeng Lake cruise, but not everyone needs it. Add the boat if you want to see the castle and lake from the water. If you only want photos and a walk, a standalone visit is enough.
Tip:Before paying, ask whether the ticket is only for castle entry, only for the boat, or a package. Do not assume all activities are included.

Self-driving or hiring a car is easier
Jilongbao is some distance from Xingyi city and Wanfenglin, and public transport is less convenient than for city attractions. Self-driving or hiring a car works better if you want to combine it with Wanfeng Lake, Yuhuangding, or Wanfenglin in one day.
Tip:Lake roads have bends, so prepare ahead if you get carsick. Do not put Jilongbao as the final stop before a tight train or flight.
