What kind of visit suits you
Visitors enter Baligou by transferring at the visitor center. The core experience combines canyon streams, Tianhe Waterfall, Shuilian Cave, and waterside paths. The paths and water scenery work well for families, while visitors with more energy can add the cliff ladder.
Half a day or two days
Allow about 3–4 hours for the main Baligou route. If you combine Baligou with Jiulianshan or Huilong Tianjieshan, plan for 1–2 days. Baligou, Jiulianshan, and Tianjieshan are often organized around a three-park pass and inter-park transportation. When buying tickets, check the pass validity, included parks, sightseeing-shuttle coverage, and the last shuttle.

Tianhe Waterfall and Shuilian Cave
Tianhe Waterfall is Baligou’s main water attraction, and its flow can change noticeably during the wet season. Shuilian Cave lets you view the water from behind the waterfall at close range. It suits visitors who want to focus on water scenery, photography, and waterside walking paths.
Waterside paths and the cliff ladder
The waterside paths follow streams and shallow sections through the canyon, making them suitable for a slower walk. The cliff ladder adds a climbing element close to the rock face. The ladder and sightseeing elevator are different choices in terms of physical effort and cost; check their opening status and prices before using them.
How it connects with the other two parks
Baligou, Jiulianshan, and Huilong Tianjieshan have nearby entrances and commonly share a visitor center and some inter-park transport. Each park has its own routes. When visiting more than one park, keep track of your destination park, transfer stops, and return time.
Build your day
A 3–4-hour Baligou main route
Take the sightseeing shuttle from the visitor center to Yangzhoudi, then walk about 1 kilometer to Tianhe Waterfall. After visiting Shuilian Cave, consider the cliff ladder if your fitness and the weather are suitable. Return along the same route, and note the return stop and the last shuttle before boarding.
A one- or two-day combination
Spend the first day exploring Baligou’s main area, following the waterside path to Tianhe Waterfall and entering Shuilian Cave. On the second day, choose Jiulianshan or Huilong Tianjieshan according to the pass validity and the parks included. Before crossing between parks, check the inter-park stops and the last return shuttle, and allow time for the connection.
How to use the sightseeing shuttles
The scenic area may use a segmented fare system for its sightseeing vehicles. Whether you can continue riding after getting off depends on the ticket rules. Before boarding, check the segmented fares, the rules for continuing after you get off, and the return waiting stops.
Get there
By car
Navigate to the “Xinxiang South Taihang Baligou Scenic Area Visitor Center” or Baligou Visitor Center. Park at the foot of the mountain and transfer to the sightseeing shuttle for the core area. During peak periods or when visitor numbers are high, private cars generally cannot enter the core area.
By public transportation
From the bus station beside Xinxiang East Railway Station, take a bus to Huixian, then transfer to a bus for Baligou. Public transportation requires a transfer in Huixian, so leave enough time to reach the visitor center.
Know before you go
Macaques and personal belongings
Macaques may be encountered in the scenic area. Keep snacks, drinks, and other belongings secured, and do not feed the animals or move close to them to compete for food. Follow the on-site instructions along waterside sections and near waterfalls.
Return time and add-on activities
Use the last sightseeing shuttle as your return-time anchor. Before buying tickets, check whether the sightseeing elevator, cliff ladder, and other add-on activities are open that day. For water photography, consider stopping at Shuilian Cave, the pool below Tianhe Waterfall, and the waterside paths, while allowing for conditions affected by water levels, rain and fog, and visitor numbers.
