One resort, two areas
Baoquan Tourist Resort is divided into two areas: Yatianxia (“Cliffside World”) on the mountaintop and the Grand Canyon below. Yatianxia focuses on cliff scenery and views from above, while the Grand Canyon centers on clear water, waterfalls, and waterside routes. The two areas work well as a same-day itinerary.
Cliffs first, canyon second
Allow about 4–5 hours for a quick visit, starting at the mountaintop to see Youlong Bay before descending to the Grand Canyon. For a slower visit with time for cliff activities, water play, and photography, plan a full day. Reference prices are about CNY 220–238 for a pass covering both areas and about CNY 108 for the Grand Canyon alone. Different ticket types may include different sightseeing shuttles, cable cars, and other transport services; check the entry cut-off time when buying your ticket.

Youlong Bay and the mountaintop views
Youlong Bay is in the mountaintop area, where the river curves between red cliffs. The views are especially open around Xiangyun Viewpoint and Taihang Heart. Visitors who enjoy high vantage points and cliff scenery can make Yatianxia the first section of their itinerary.
Jianlong Waterfall and the Grand Canyon
The Grand Canyon area includes Jianlong Waterfall, Shuilian Cave, Emerald Sea, and Fish-scale Dam. The route focuses more on streams, waterfalls, and shallow-water areas. If you want a slower walk through mountain scenery or a gentler water-based outing with family, set aside time for the canyon area.
Cliff activities
The cliff swing, roller coaster, cliff walk, boat rides, and swimming are separate activities that may involve queues, reservations, or additional charges. Choose among them according to that day’s opening status, waiting times, and your own fitness.
Build your day
A 4–5-hour cliffs-first route
Take the resort shuttle uphill from Baoquan Visitor Center, then transfer to the Luojiasi Cable Car into Yatianxia. Visit Taihang Heart and Xiangyun Viewpoint for views over Youlong Bay. Then take the L-shaped cave elevator down to the Grand Canyon, walk past Jianlong Waterfall, Emerald Sea, and Fish-scale Dam, and begin your return journey.
A complete one-day route
Follow the cliffs-first, canyon-second order. Take your time around Youlong Bay, then choose the cliff swing, roller coaster, or cliff walk according to the waiting time. In the Grand Canyon, spend longer around Emerald Sea and the shallow-water areas if you wish; boat rides and swimming depend on the ticket type and that day’s opening arrangements.
Leave time for the return walk
After taking the L-shaped cave elevator out of the Grand Canyon, you still need to walk about 2 kilometers to the return-bus stop. Leave enough time for this walk and for waiting for the bus after finishing the canyon route.
Get there
By car
Set your navigation destination to “Baoquan Visitor Center.” Park in P1 or P2, then continue to the visitor center for the transfer. The reference parking fee is about CNY 10 per day. On arrival, follow the visitor center signs for parking and in-resort transport.
By public transportation
Direct tourist buses to Baoquan are available from Zhengzhou, Xinxiang, Luoyang, and other places. Use a travel platform to view the departure points and schedules. After the direct bus reaches the visitor center, you still need to connect with the resort’s uphill transport.
Know before you go
Ticket types and add-on activities
Baoquan’s admission, sightseeing shuttles, cable car, cave elevator, and activity tickets may belong to different ticket types. Read the coverage of a combined ticket carefully when buying. Popular activities can have long queues during peak periods and holidays, so allow waiting time for the cliff swing and roller coaster.
Opening times and food
The reference opening hours are 08:00–18:00, with entry cut off at around 16:00. The exact times can change with the season and visitor numbers. The resort has a range of food and food-experience options; ask about prices before ordering, and carry drinking water and simple supplies.
Routes and weather
The route between Yatianxia and the Grand Canyon includes a cable car, cave elevator, and walking sections. Rain and fog can reduce visibility at higher points. Follow safety instructions around cliffs, waterfalls, and waterside sections, and adjust the route if the weather changes.
