Plan at a glance
Choose the area you want to see
Visitors enter Wanxianshan by transferring at the Shayao Visitor Center. The main experiences are concentrated in Guoliang and Nanping (Danfengou). Guoliang is known for its cliffside road, Cliffside Corridor, and stone village, while Nanping is better for shaded boardwalks, streams, and waterfalls.
How much time to allow
Allow about 3–4 hours for the main Guoliang area. If you want to cover both Guoliang and Danfengou, set aside 1–2 days. Rain and fog can reduce visibility along the cliffs and at distant viewpoints, so leave some flexibility in your schedule.

Guoliang: the cliffside road and village
The Cliffside Corridor (Guoliang Tunnel) is about 1,250 meters long and was cut into the cliff. Several openings in the tunnel create “skylight” viewpoints facing outward. Guoliang Village retains its cliffside stone houses, while the cannon tower is associated with film locations. This area suits visitors interested in engineering landmarks, village architecture, and cultural photography.
Nanping: streams and canyon scenery in Danfengou
Danfengou centers on shaded boardwalks, streams, and Black Dragon Pool Waterfall, with a more relaxed walking pace than the Guoliang route. If you enjoy walking through a canyon, looking for water scenery, or avoiding the most concentrated viewpoints, make Nanping the second part of your visit.
Tickets and entry arrangements
The combined ticket is listed at about CNY 107 and includes admission and the required sightseeing shuttle, with a reference validity period of 48 hours. Ticket prices, validity, discounted-ticket rules, sightseeing-shuttle operating times, and the last shuttle may change with the season, visitor numbers, and ticket type. Review the latest ticket information before setting out.
Build your day
A 3–4-hour Guoliang route
Take the sightseeing shuttle from Shayao Visitor Center to the Guoliang area. Walk the Cliffside Corridor first, then continue to Guoliang Village to see the cliffside stone houses and cannon tower. The tunnel entrance, skylights, and cliffside viewpoints are good places to stop for photos. The ladder is steep, so only add it if your fitness and the weather are suitable.
One or two days for Guoliang and Nanping
On the first day, focus on the Cliffside Corridor and Guoliang Village. Depending on your fitness, choose from Hanquan Spring, Yuanyang Lake, the cliff ladder, and the cannon tower. On the second day, take the sightseeing shuttle to Nanping, go first to the higher part of Danfengou, then follow the route downhill past Black Dragon Pool Waterfall. Finish near Riyuexing Stone Square and take the shuttle back. Nanping may offer electric-cart service; check its price and operating times after arrival, then decide whether to use it.
Vehicles and accommodation
Private cars generally cannot drive directly into the core areas. Park at Shayao Visitor Center and transfer to the sightseeing shuttle. If you are staying at a mountain guesthouse and need to bring a vehicle farther in, contact the property in advance about registration requirements and when they can be completed.
Get there
By car
Set your navigation destination to “Wanxianshan Shayao Visitor Center.” Park on arrival and transfer to the sightseeing shuttle up the mountain. Check the parking fee and vehicle-entry rules at the visitor center, and follow traffic directions on narrow mountain roads.
By public transportation
From the bus station near Xinxiang East Railway Station, take a bus to Huixian, then continue to the area around Baiquan Bus Station to transfer to a direct bus for Wanxianshan. Arrange the departure-day bus services and stops in advance, and leave enough time for the transfer.
Know before you go
Tickets, shuttles, and food
Admission and the sightseeing shuttle are separate components of the combined ticket. The Nanping electric cart is an additional in-mountain transport option. Before ordering food in the scenic area, ask about the dishes and prices, especially at farmhouse restaurants where the charging method may vary.
Weather, trail conditions, and photography
Rain and fog can reduce visibility at the Cliffside Corridor, skylights, and cliffside viewpoints. In severe weather or if temporary restrictions are in place, adjust your route according to the scenic area’s safety requirements. Useful photo locations include the tunnel entrance, skylights, cliffside village viewpoints, and the streams and waterfalls of Danfengou.
