Plan at a glance

Core experiences

Huilong Tianjieshan centers on the Huilong cliffside road, Yunfeng Gallery, Guizhen Terrace, and other viewpoints, as well as Laoye Peak and Xuanwu Temple. It suits visitors who want cliff and mountain panoramas from the top, while being comfortable with some walking and transfers.

Half a day or a full day

After transferring from Baligou Visitor Center to the mountain, allow about 2–3 hours for a quick visit. If you want to walk the approximately 6-kilometer Yunfeng Gallery and climb Laoye Peak, plan for a full day. Tianjieshan commonly uses a three-park pass with Baligou and Jiulianshan; when buying tickets, check which parks, inter-park transport, cable car, and glass walkway are covered.

Choose your visit

Huilong cliffside road

The sightseeing shuttle travels through the Huilong cliffside road, making it an important part of the journey to the mountain-top area. The road itself is experienced from the shuttle, while Yunfeng Gallery requires a separate walk at the top. The road is narrow in places, so follow the transport instructions while riding.

Yunfeng Gallery and viewpoints

Yunfeng Gallery runs along the cliffs, with Guizhen Terrace and other viewpoints along the way offering views of valleys and mountain peaks. For a quick visit, use the loop sightseeing bus and get off at designated stops. If your fitness allows, make the approximately 6-kilometer gallery a complete walking section. Use the stop signs to identify the permitted stops.

Laoye Peak and add-on experiences

Laoye Peak has Xuanwu Temple, and reaching the summit is a separate mountain-top route. The glass walkway, shoe covers, and cable car are different activities for visitors who want to add more experiences and are comfortable with the extra walking or cost.

Build your day

A 2–3-hour quick route

Take the sightseeing shuttle from Baligou Visitor Center through the Huilong cliffside road, then transfer to the loop sightseeing bus around Qingfeng Pass. Get off at viewpoints such as Guizhen Terrace, the glass walkway, and the Courage Test Platform, then return to Qingfeng Pass for the descent. Check the loop-bus fare, stops, and operating times when buying tickets or waiting to board.

A full-day in-depth route

You can explore Baligou in the morning and continue to Tianjieshan in the afternoon. After reaching the top, walk Yunfeng Gallery, then choose between walking and the cable car for the Laoye Peak and Xuanwu Temple route. The gallery walk, cable-car ascent and descent, and glass walkway involve different levels of effort and different charges, so allow time for each separately.

Plan the return

Both Yunfeng Gallery and Laoye Peak require substantial walking. After reaching the top, note the last loop bus and downhill sightseeing shuttle first. If you choose the glass walkway or cable car, include waiting time, shoe-cover time, and transfer time in your return plan.

Get there

Driving and transfers

Navigate to Baligou Visitor Center or the Baligou Scenic Area parking lot. Park the vehicle and transfer to the sightseeing shuttle up the mountain. The route into Tianjieshan begins with the transfer at the visitor center; vehicles from the foot of the mountain cannot drive directly into the mountain-top area.

By public transportation

From Xinxiang, Zhengzhou, and other places, take a bus or tourist shuttle to Baligou Visitor Center, then transfer to Tianjieshan. After reaching the visitor center, you still need to connect with the in-mountain transport, and your return time should match the last bus from the mountain.

Know before you go

Combined pass and in-mountain transport

Baligou, Jiulianshan, and Tianjieshan commonly use a three-park pass. The covered parks, inter-park vehicles, cable car, and add-on activities differ by ticket. Before buying and entering, check the pass coverage, last shuttle, and open routes.

Cliff routes and weather

Yunfeng Gallery, the glass walkway, and Laoye Peak all include mountain or cliffside sections. Rain, fog, strong winds, or temporary restrictions can affect visibility or opening status. For photography, prioritize the Huilong cliffside road, Guizhen Terrace, and viewpoints along the gallery, and always follow the guardrails and passage signs.
