Open street and indoor sites
Anfeng Ancient Street is in Anfeng Town, Dongtai. The main entrance is the Anfeng Ancient Town archway. The street is open all day, free to enter and does not require a reservation; indoor sites such as Bao Family Mansion and Chouzhou Money House can be visited with a combined ticket, listed at about CNY 32, and generally open around 08:00–17:00.
The main street is about 378 metres long. Allow about one hour for a quick route or 2–3 hours to look closely at the buildings and indoor sites. The street and its indoor venues have separate hours and ticket arrangements; free entry to the street does not cover every venue.
Slow walking and local snacks
The main sights are the Ming–Qing stone street, grey-brick residences with dark-tiled roofs, Bao Family Mansion and East Daba Lane. Visitors interested in local architecture, historic streets, slow walks and regional snacks can make this a half-day stop. Early morning is quieter, and the entrance archway and middle section of the stone street work well for photos.

Stone street and historic buildings
The main attraction is the 378-metre street and the residences still used along it. Bao Family Mansion is one of the representative buildings. Wu Jiaji’s Former Residence, the Salt Tax Office Site and Ge Xianglan’s Former Residence can be chosen according to interest, while the Straw-Art Exhibition Hall adds a local craft element.
Free walk and paid indoor venues
For a simple street visit, enter through the archway and follow the main street past homes, shops and local snacks. Visitors who want more context on local figures and commercial history can buy the combined ticket; the indoor venues are small enough to choose selectively while keeping the main-street walk intact.
Build your day
About 1 hour: main-street route
Enter through the Anfeng Ancient Town archway and follow the Ming–Qing stone street past Bao Family Mansion, Chouzhou Money House, Wu Jiaji’s Former Residence and the Salt Tax Office Site. Return along the main street or leave through a nearby exit. With limited time, choose the indoor venues selectively.
2–3 hours: ancient-street highlights
Enter through the main archway and start with East Daba Lane to see the residential lanes. Return to the main street for Bao Family Mansion, the Straw-Art Exhibition Hall and Wu Jiaji’s Former Residence, then continue to Ge Xianglan’s Former Residence at the far end and leave from the opposite side.
Early-morning photo route
Arriving before about 07:40 usually means fewer visitors and softer light. Photograph the archway, Bao Family Mansion’s frontage and the red-lantern section of the stone street first, then decide whether to buy the combined ticket when the indoor venues open.
Get there
Bus
Take bus 201, 210 or 216 and get off at Anfeng Old Bus Station or Anfeng Ancient Street. The entrance is about a two-minute walk away. From Dongtai Railway Station, you can also change to one of these routes, but return buses may be infrequent, so check the return timetable before leaving.
Driving and parking
Navigate to “Anfeng Ancient Town Car Park”. Parking is free, and the car park has restrooms and basic facilities. Park by the archway and walk into the street; vehicles do not enter the historic street.
Know before you go
Stone paving and indoor venues
The old street has uneven stone paving, so wear comfortable, non-slip flat shoes. Indoor venues are small and can be selected according to interest; the combined ticket is listed at about CNY 32, and venue hours are generally around 08:00–17:00.
Bus returns and local snacks
Rural bus intervals can be long, so check the return service before leaving. Longhu Dou shaobing, vegetable-stuffed pancakes and Anfeng rice cakes are local snack options near the street; the listed reference prices are about CNY 3, CNY 10 and the shop’s current price respectively.
