Plan at a glance
Two areas, two ways to visit
Dazong Lake Resort is at 1 Pinghu South Road in Yandu District, Yancheng. It is mainly divided into the Reed Maze and Dongjin Water City. The Reed Maze is visited mainly by boat, while Dongjin Water City is a historic-style street area for walking, photography and night activities when they are scheduled.
The main admission ticket is listed at CNY 45–53, and the site is open 08:30–17:30. Electric boats cost about CNY 40 per person; a traditional wooden boat costs about CNY 180–240 per boat. The last boat is usually around 17:10–17:40, depending on the season and weather, so check the day’s departure time after entering.
How much time to allow
Allow 2–3 hours for a quick boat trip through the Reed Maze followed by a short stop in Dongjin Water City. A fuller 4–6-hour visit can add the Chinese fir corridor, Liubao Village and daytime activities in the water city. Night scenery, fireworks, light shows and iron-flower performances are not daily programmes.

Reed Maze and Chinese fir corridor
The Reed Maze can only be entered by boat. Electric boats suit individuals or small groups, while a wooden boat suits a larger group. The Chinese fir corridor follows the waterways and is good for reflections in the morning or late afternoon; regular visitors can photograph the reeds and channels from the boat, while aerial photography is not part of the standard visit.
Dongjin Water City and night activities
Dongjin Water City has historic-style buildings, Song Street, Jian'an Avenue and a “Yancheng” character wall. It suits Hanfu photography and slow walks. Light shows, fireworks, iron-flower displays and NPC performances depend on the day’s programme; add them to the evening route only when they are announced.
Families and relaxed visitors can keep the boat trip and Chinese fir corridor in the daytime. Visitors interested in folk performances or night scenery can stay longer in Dongjin Water City, following the timetable for that day.
Build your day
2–3 hours: Reed Maze and Dongjin Water City
Enter through the main gate and go first to the Reed Maze boat pier. Complete the main water route, then visit the Chinese fir corridor for photos. Continue on foot to Dongjin Water City, walk through Song Street and the “Yancheng” character wall, and then leave.
4–6 hours: wetland, Liubao Village and historic-style streets
Start with the Chinese fir corridor and Liubao Village, then take a boat through the Reed Maze. After disembarking, enter Dongjin Water City and walk along Song Street and Jian'an Avenue. If night activities or performances are scheduled, decide at the site whether to stay for them.
Boat tickets and internal transport
Electric boats cost about CNY 40 per person, and traditional wooden boats cost about CNY 180–240 per boat. The internal electric cart is charged separately; ask for the price before boarding. Boats and electric carts are extra-cost services and are not covered by the main admission ticket.
Get there
Driving and parking
Navigate to “Dazong Lake Resort”; the site has a car park. Parking is listed at about CNY 7 per visit for the 08:30–14:00 period. Roads can be heavily congested during public holidays, while a weekday visit gives you a more manageable return schedule.
Public transport
There is no direct metro service. Check buses from Yancheng Coach Station to Dazong Lake. Public-transport departures and the return time need to match the day’s plan; driving covers both areas more directly when travelling with older visitors or luggage.
Know before you go
Last boat and performance times
Check the last boat after entering, then decide how long to stay in Dongjin Water City. Some performances have set times but do not run all day; take a photo of the day’s timetable so you do not miss the return boat.
Crowds, signal and food
Traffic can be heavy during public holidays such as Chinese New Year, and mobile signal may be weak inside the resort. Food choices are limited and relatively expensive. Bring water and simple food, or eat at Laojiekou Wonton in Dazong Lake Town or at snack shops in Louwang Town.
The Gaokao-candidate free-admission promotion from June 9 to August 31, 2026 is a dated offer and is not part of the normal ticket policy.
