How to Visit
1

Use Daguan Pavilion as an old-city starting point

Daguan Pavilion sits in the core of Yibin’s old city. It works well as the start of a citywalk or a stop in the middle. See the building and archways first, then continue to Guanying Street, the Confucian Temple, East Street, or Hejiangmen.

Tip:This area is not ideal for point-to-point driving. Walking and short taxi rides are easier in the old city.
2

See the building before the streets

Daguan Pavilion is a recognizable historic building, with its stone base, layered eaves, plaques, and passageways below. After seeing it, the surrounding streets make more sense.

Tip:Do not treat it only as a photo background at an intersection. The relationship between the pavilion and the old-city streets is the real point.
3

Use daytime and evening differently

Daytime is better for architectural details and nearby historic sites. Evening is better for East Street night-market energy and old-city lights. If you have time, place it around late afternoon.

Tip:Tower entry, exhibitions, and indoor access depend on on-site arrangements. At night, focus on the exterior and streets.
4

Combine it with Hejiangmen

Daguan Pavilion is not far on foot from Hejiangmen and Yangtze River Landmark Square. Walk the old city first, then move to the riverside for night views.

Tip:If you only have 1 hour left, Daguan Pavilion plus nearby snacks is more practical than rushing through several indoor sites.
Highlights
  • Daguan Pavilion is one of the most recognizable buildings in Yibin’s old city and anchors the surrounding street space.
  • The building body, plaques, and archways are worth looking at closely, not just using as a backdrop.
  • Nearby old streets, snacks, and night-market energy make the stop feel more lived-in.
  • The walking route from Daguan Pavilion to Guanying Street, the Confucian Temple, and Hejiangmen works well for a short citywalk.
  • Evening exterior views and daytime architectural details offer different reasons to visit.
Insider Tips

Do not drive into the Daguan Pavilion area during holidays. Traffic and parking will drain the experience.

If you want to enter the tower or see exhibitions, check the on-site opening arrangement first.

There are many snacks nearby, but queues build during peak meal times, so go slightly earlier or later.

When photographing the exterior, pay attention to vehicles and pedestrians around the intersection.

Daguan Pavilion does not need a separate half day. It feels more natural with Hejiangmen and Guanying Street.
