Plan at a glance

Location, admission and opening hours

Li Zongren Historical Archive Museum is at No. 8 Kangning Road in Taierzhuang District. Its entrance is the main door of a Gothic-style former railway-station building. Admission is free and no advance reservation is required; enter on site. Reference hours are 09:00–17:00, with last admission at 16:30. The museum is closed on Mondays except public holidays.

Allow 30–60 minutes for a quick visit, or 1–2 hours for both floors of the main building followed by the courtyard and exterior. It can be combined with the War Memorial Museum and Taierzhuang Ancient Town on the same day, but the three venues do not share admission arrangements or opening hours.

What to see

The former railway-station building is a main attraction in its own right. The displays cover Li Zongren's life and the Battle of Taierzhuang. The classic photograph panel showing Li Zongren at Taierzhuang Railway Station is one of the first exhibits to look for.

The courtyard contains an old steam locomotive and a “Taierzhuang Station” sign. Visit these after leaving the main building so that the indoor displays and exterior railway elements form one short route.

Choose your visit

The former station and Taierzhuang history

The main building presents Li Zongren's life, the background to the Battle of Taierzhuang and related photographs and objects. The classic image of Li Zongren at Taierzhuang Station is a useful focus for a first visit.

Outside, the old locomotive, station sign and former station building can be seen together with the courtyard and canal-side views. This combination suits a 30–60 minute visit better than staying only inside the exhibition rooms.

Who it suits

History and military-history visitors can spend 1–2 hours reading both floors. Architecture and photography visitors can leave the building and follow the exterior route to the station sign and locomotive. Families can choose the main displays and exterior objects without spending too long in one exhibition room.

Build your day

30–60 minute quick route

Enter through the main door, visit the displays on Li Zongren and the Battle of Taierzhuang, and continue through the first-floor photographs and objects. After leaving the building, walk to the old locomotive and “Taierzhuang Station” sign before departing.

This route suits visitors who have also planned Taierzhuang Ancient Town or the War Memorial Museum. Last admission is at 16:30, so arrive earlier and allow time for ID checks.

1–2 hour full route

Follow both floors of the main building to learn about Li Zongren's life and the Battle of Taierzhuang, then return outside to view the former station building, courtyard and canal-side landscape. Keeping the indoor and outdoor sections separate reduces unnecessary backtracking.

If you plan photography, the old locomotive, station sign and exterior of the former station are the clearest outdoor subjects. Indoor photography follows the rules of the exhibition rooms on the day.

Combining other Taierzhuang sights

Li Zongren Historical Archive Museum can be combined with the War Memorial Museum and Taierzhuang Ancient Town in a half-day or full-day plan. Finish the two museums first and leave the ancient town for the afternoon and evening; each venue has its own free or paid rules, opening hours and entrance.

Get there

From the railway stations and city area

From Zaozhuang Railway Station or Tengzhou East Railway Station, transfer to a bus or take a taxi. B1 and B2 are possible bus options; the reference journey is about 1–2 hours depending on the departure station and road conditions. Navigate to “Li Zongren Historical Archive Museum”; the entrance is the main door of the former station building.

Driving and movement around the site

Drivers can navigate directly to “Li Zongren Historical Archive Museum.” Parking is available nearby. The main building, locomotive, station sign and exterior areas form a short walking route, so a 30–60 minute visit does not require repeated backtracking.

Know before you go

Opening hours and same-day planning

Reference hours are 09:00–17:00, with last admission at 16:30. The museum is closed on Mondays except public holidays. If you visit it with the War Memorial Museum and Taierzhuang Ancient Town, plan the order around each venue's closing time.

Admission is free and no advance reservation is required, but free admission does not remove the last-admission limit. If you are travelling from a more distant railway station, include the bus or taxi journey in the day's route.

Photography, food and return travel

The old locomotive, “Taierzhuang Station” sign and former station building are clear outdoor photography subjects. Indoor photography follows the rules of the exhibition rooms; complete the exhibition before spending time on the exterior views.

Nearby food options include Zaozhuang spicy chicken (辣子鸡), canal carp (运河鲤鱼) and vegetable pancakes (菜煎饼). If you will continue to Taierzhuang Ancient Town, decide in advance how you will travel to the next entrance; the three venues follow separate opening arrangements.
