Entrance, tickets and opening hours
Weishan Lake Red Lotus Wetland is on Hudo Dike Tourist Road in Binhu Town, Tengzhou. The East Gate is the usual main entrance. Reference hours are 08:00–17:30. The walk from the entrance to the main pier takes about 40 minutes; the sightseeing shuttle, official pleasure boats and rowing boats are separate arrangements.
From July 4 to August 31, 2026, the main admission ticket is free for visitors nationwide. Outside this period, the reference peak-season admission price is CNY 50–70 per person. The sightseeing shuttle is about CNY 10–20 round trip and the boat service is about CNY 70; confirm each product and the day's arrangements separately.
How much time to allow
A 3–4 hour visit can take the sightseeing shuttle from the East Gate to the pier, continue by official pleasure boat through the reeds and lotus ponds, land at Panlong Island to visit Xiaolijiazhuang, and return. To add Red Lotus Tower, the Lotus Flower Garden, the Wetland Museum and the lakeside at sunset, plan a full day.
July and August are the main months for lotus flowers. Outside the flowering season, the focus shifts to reeds, open water and wetland paths. Lotus flowers may close around midday, and the lake area has many mosquitoes in summer, so early morning and late afternoon are usually more comfortable for outdoor routes.

Lotus ponds, reeds and lake routes
The main experience combines pleasure boats, lotus ponds, reed beds, Panlong Island and wooden walkways. Xiaolijiazhuang on Panlong Island is linked to the Railway Guerrillas' history, so the boat route can combine wetland scenery with local history.
Red Lotus Tower, the Lotus Flower Garden and the Wetland Museum fit the land-based part of the visit. Taking the official pleasure boat after reaching the main pier reduces long walks inside the park. Rowing boats are another water option and are charged separately from the main ticket, sightseeing shuttle and pleasure boat.
Who it suits
Photographers can choose the lotus ponds in the early morning, the view from Red Lotus Tower, the Jiuqu wooden walkway and the lakeside at sunset. Families can combine a pleasure boat, the reed beds and the Wetland Museum. Visitors interested in both history and nature can stop at Xiaolijiazhuang before returning to the lake route.
The route depends heavily on flowering season, weather and water-activity operations. Outside the flowering season, focus on wetland ecology and reeds rather than planning the day around peak lotus views.
Build your day
3–4 hour East Gate–pier–Panlong Island route
Enter through the East Gate and take the sightseeing shuttle to the main pier. Continue by official pleasure boat through the reeds and lotus ponds, land on Panlong Island to visit Xiaolijiazhuang, and return according to the boat route operating that day. The pier is about a 40-minute walk from the entrance, so the shuttle is useful for children and slower walkers.
You can return by boat and then follow the lakeside wooden walkway toward the exit. The pleasure boat, rowing boat and sightseeing shuttle use different boarding points; confirm the day's open piers and return direction after entering.
Full-day route
Enter through the East Gate in the morning and begin with Red Lotus Tower, the Lotus Flower Garden and the Wetland Museum. Have lunch near the scenic area or bring a simple meal. In the afternoon, take the official pleasure boat to Panlong Island and Xiaolijiazhuang, then add a rowing boat or lakeside walk before returning around sunset.
This route suits the July–August flowering season or visitors who want a slower wetland visit. Outside the flowering season, reduce the time in the Lotus Flower Garden and spend more time among the reeds, at the Wetland Museum and along the lakeside paths.
Combining other Zaozhuang sights
Red Lotus Wetland works well as a full-day visit, or as part of a two-day route with Taierzhuang Ancient Town and Railway Guerrillas Memorial Park. A wetland visit usually takes at least half a day, so calculate the water activities and travel between sites separately.
With only half a day, keep the East Gate, sightseeing shuttle, official pleasure boat and Xiaolijiazhuang. Choose Red Lotus Tower, the Lotus Flower Garden and the Wetland Museum according to your arrival time.
Get there
From the railway stations
From Tengzhou East Railway Station or Zaozhuang Railway Station, take K209 to the wetland scenic area; the reference fare is about CNY 3. A taxi takes about 40–50 minutes. Bus frequency and the return timetable affect a full-day lake route, so check the return plan before leaving in the evening.
Driving and movement inside the wetland
Drivers can navigate to “Tengzhou Weishan Lake Red Lotus Wetland.” Parking is available and the reference fee is CNY 10 per day. The East Gate is the usual entrance, and the long walk to the main pier makes the sightseeing shuttle a practical first transfer after arrival.
Inside the wetland, visitors use shuttles, pleasure boats, rowing boats and walking paths. The piers and return directions may differ; visitors with luggage or strollers should confirm boarding and wooden-walkway conditions first.
Know before you go
Limited-time free admission, boats and reservation
The free main-ticket period runs from July 4 to August 31, 2026, and has a fixed end date. Outside that period, confirm the day's ticket arrangement. During the free-admission period, advance reservation through the official mini-program is still recommended, and visitors should enter with their ID card.
The sightseeing shuttle, official pleasure boat and rowing boat are not included in the main admission ticket. Choose the park's official boats and confirm the ticket, route and return pier before boarding.
Flowering season, weather and safety
The main lotus season is July and August, and flowers may close around midday. Outside the flowering season, the focus is reeds and wetland scenery. Mosquitoes are common around the lake in summer, the sun can be strong, and wooden walkways may be slippery; wear non-slip shoes and bring mosquito protection.
Do not pick lotus flowers or seed pods. Food choices inside the scenic area are limited; long-route visitors can bring water and a simple meal, then eat in Binhu Town or Tengzhou city.
