Taierzhuang Ancient Town is on the eastern end of Huaxing Road in Taierzhuang District, Zaozhuang. The East Gate is the usual starting point. The reference adult ticket price is CNY 118 and the ticket is valid for two consecutive days. Visitors under 18, full-time university students and visitors aged 60 or above may qualify for free admission with valid identification. Enter with your ID card; no advance reservation is required.
The public streets of the ancient town are open all day, but its exhibition halls and museums usually close at around 21:30. After 22:00, entry is available only through the East Gate, so night planning needs to separate the public streets from the indoor venues.
How much time to allow
A 3–4 hour visit can cover the East Gate, Buyun Bridge, Fuxing Square, Boat-Shaped Street, Tianhou Temple and a rowing boat ride. If you also want to visit the Battle Ruins Park, Canjiang Office, Yuehe Street and an evening programme, plan a full day.
Most movement inside the town is on foot or by rowing boat. Uneven stone paving, steps and arched bridges make the route more demanding; visitors with strollers or large luggage should avoid unnecessary changes of route.

Water lanes, historic streets and heritage sites
The Battle Ruins Park is inside the ancient town and preserves old walls and wartime remains. Fuxing Square is the main evening activity area. Boat-Shaped Street works well as a daytime or early-evening walk, while Tianhou Temple retains Minnan-style architecture and its red walls and courtyards are best seen in daylight.
Rowing boats are a separate paid activity inside the town. The reference price is CNY 60 per person one way. Boat routes and boarding arrangements follow the conditions on the day, and the boat ticket is not included in the ancient-town admission ticket.
Different daytime and evening highlights
Use the daytime for the Battle Ruins Park, Canjiang Office and historic buildings, then continue along Yuehe Street, Boat-Shaped Street and Tianhou Temple. In the evening, the lit water lanes and programmes at Fuxing Square become a different part of the visit; programme times and whether a performance takes place depend on the day's schedule.
History-focused visitors can combine the town with the War Memorial Museum and Li Zongren Historical Archive Museum outside the town. Families should consider the stone paving, bridges and boarding conditions for rowing boats. Photographers can separate the early-morning streets, the area near Guanghui Bridge, the exterior of Tianhou Temple and the evening water lanes into different stops.

3–4 hour main route
Enter through the East Gate, continue through Buyun Bridge, Fuxing Square, Boat-Shaped Street and Tianhou Temple, then choose a rowing boat to the West Gate or back to the East Gate according to the boat service and your energy. Completing the main walking route first makes it easier to decide whether to add the boat ride.
This route suits first-time visitors or anyone with only half a day. Rowing boats are a separate paid activity at a reference price of CNY 60 per person one way; if boat, pier or weather arrangements change, follow the route that is operating on the day.
Full-day route
Enter through the East Gate in the morning and begin with the Battle Ruins Park and Canjiang Office. In the afternoon, continue to Yuehe Street, Tianhou Temple and Boat-Shaped Street. Take a rowing boat around sunset and return to Fuxing Square in the evening. If a steel-flower or fire-dragon steel-flower performance is scheduled that day, its reference time is around 21:00, but the exact programme must be checked for the date.
If the evening programme takes place, arrive at Fuxing Square about 30–40 minutes early to find a viewing position. Waiting for the show can reduce the time available for daytime venues, which usually close earlier than the public streets.
Combining other Taierzhuang sights
The War Memorial Museum is about 2 km from the ancient town and can be visited before or after it. Li Zongren Historical Archive Museum can also be added on the same day. Each place has its own entrance, opening hours and pace, so a practical order is to finish the two museums first and leave the ancient town for the afternoon and evening.
Get there
Public transport from Zaozhuang Railway Station
From Zaozhuang Railway Station, take BRT B10 to the Taierzhuang Ancient Town Visitor Center. The reference journey is about 80 minutes and the fare is about CNY 5. Another option is B1 to the Passenger Transport Center, followed by B2. From the visitor center, follow the day's directions to the East Gate or another operating entrance.
Driving and parking
Drivers can navigate to “Taierzhuang Ancient Town East Gate Parking Lot” or “South Gate Parking Lot.” The reference parking fee is CNY 20 per day. Roads and parking areas may be congested during holidays; if you plan to leave at night, note the exact car park and its corresponding exit.
Walking and boat travel inside the town
Most movement inside the town is on foot or by rowing boat. Stone paving is uneven and some arched bridges have steps; strollers and suitcases may need to be lifted. Flat, non-slip shoes are more suitable than high heels.

The town has many food options, but prices and quality vary. For a more predictable meal, consider eating outside the East Gate or back in the urban area. Local options include Zaozhuang spicy chicken (辣子鸡), vegetable pancakes (菜煎饼) and yellow-flower beef noodles (黄花牛肉面).
