Park area and entrances
Qijiang Park is at the junction of Zhongshan 1st Road and Xidi Road in Zhongshan's West District, on the former site of the Yuezhong Shipyard. The usual entrances are the west gate and the south gate near the Qijiang Greenway. The park itself is free and open without a reservation, making it suitable for a walk, industrial heritage and riverside rest. Indoor venues such as Zhongshan Art Museum have their own opening hours.
Opening hours and visit planning
The park is open throughout the day, with no shared ticket gate or visitor limit. Indoor venues such as Zhongshan Art Museum are listed at 09:00–17:00 and may close on Mondays. Allow about 1 hour for a quick walk, 2–2.5 hours for a fuller visit, or around 2 hours for an evening route that continues to Qijiang Bridge and Xingzhong Plaza.

Shipyard remains and industrial design
The park retains shipyard rails, gantry cranes, a former dry dock and machinery. It suits visitors interested in industrial architecture, urban reuse and photography. The Amber Water Tower is one of the easiest landmarks to identify; see it in daylight for its structure and river setting, or include it in the riverside section of an evening walk.
Art museum, ponds and the river
Zhongshan Art Museum is inside the park, but its exhibitions and hours are separate from the outdoor grounds. It can be added to a daytime route when open. The ecological area includes lotus ponds, waterside platforms and the Qijiang Greenway for a slower walk. If your main aim is the night view, keep the indoor exhibition and the evening park walk as separate parts of the plan rather than assuming the museum stays open after dark.
Build your day
A 1-hour quick route
Enter through the west gate, see the industrial rails and former dry dock, continue to the Amber Water Tower, then walk beside the Qijiang River before leaving through the south gate. This route focuses on the industrial remains and river views and leaves room for water and rest breaks.
A 2–2.5-hour full route
Follow the industrial heritage area, Amber Water Tower, Zhongshan Art Museum, ecological area and Qijiang Greenway. Check whether the art museum is open that day. If it is closed, replace the indoor section with the lotus ponds and waterside platforms, then continue along the river.
A 2-hour Qijiang evening route
Start at Qijiang Park for the industrial-style night view, walk to Qijiang Bridge and Zhongken Footbridge, and finish at Xingzhong Plaza for the Ferris wheel and riverside lights. The park lighting and indoor venues follow different rules, so confirm your parking location or bus departure time before starting the final leg.
Get there
Public transport and high-speed rail
Bus routes 006, 024 and 077 stop at “Qijiang Park Station (岐江公园站).” From Zhongshan Station, a taxi takes about 10 minutes. If you are combining Qijiang Park with Sunwen West Road or Zhongshan Museum, walking through the old city and using short taxi rides is easier than moving the car repeatedly.
Driving and parking
For driving, search for “Qijiang Park Parking.” Spaces can be limited at weekends; the area around Zhongshan Memorial Library opposite the park is another place to consider before walking in. Do not rely on roadside parking along Zhongshan 1st Road or Xidi Road.
Know before you go
Sun, insects and supplies
The park is beside the river and has extensive greenery, so insects can be noticeable and shade is limited in summer. Bring insect repellent, sun protection, drinking water and a small snack; commercial facilities are limited. Children's play equipment is also limited, so the park is better suited to walking, photography and industrial heritage than to a dedicated playground visit.
Night access and indoor venues
The park being open all day does not mean that every facility or indoor venue is open at night. Zhongshan Art Museum may close on Mondays, and exhibition hours can change. If the museum is important to your plan, visit during the day and leave the river and bridge views for later.
Crowds and route pace
Weekend afternoons are busier, while mornings and early evenings are easier for a relaxed walk. The park is more photogenic after the lights come on, but watch the ground and plan the return route along the river, especially with children or after rain. Do not enter closed or slippery areas for a photograph.
