Location, entrance and opening hours
Xiaoyaogu Scenic Area is in Nanqiao Yinkeng, Wugui Mountain, in the forested interior of the ecological reserve. The usual entrance is the scenic area's main gate. Adult tickets are around CNY 20–38; children under 1.2 metres are free, but swimming requires an extra CNY 18, while children 1.2–1.5 metres usually pay half price. No reservation is normally required. Opening hours are 08:30–17:30; the pool opens in summer and some projects may change in winter.
Visit planning and scope
Xiaoyaogu is a separately ticketed spring-water and creek attraction within the wider Wugui Mountain area. It is not the same as Wugui Mountain's free hiking trails. The family water route takes about 1.5–2 hours, the creek exploration route about 2.5–3 hours, and a group or leisure visit can take half a day to a full day. Pool access, creek activities and performances depend on the day's operating plan.

Spring pool and creek activities
The site has a spring-water swimming pool with shallow and deep sections, which suits families with children. The shallow Jinsha Creek area may offer net fishing and crab-catching activities in permitted sections. Moss can grow on the creek stones, so wear non-slip creek shoes; shallow-water play is not risk-free free-form wading.
Creek valley, Jiulian Pool and performances
The fuller creek route includes Rainbow Bridge, Butterfly Creek Valley, Fairy Pool, Rolling Stone Gorge Waterfall, Guanyin Temple's purple bamboo grove and Jiulian Pool. It suits visitors who enjoy nature walks and photography. Sichuan opera face-changing, clown acts and other performances may be offered at set times, but the time and content can change; check the schedule after entry if a performance matters to you.
Build your day
A 1.5–2-hour family water route
Enter through the main gate, start at the Jinsha Creek shallows, walk to the spring-water pool, then check the day's pet or acrobatics schedule before returning. The route is relatively gentle and suits families with young children. Children who enter free still need to pay the separate swimming fee, so confirm the pool rules when buying tickets.
A 2.5–3-hour creek exploration route
Follow the entrance, Rainbow Bridge, Butterfly Creek Valley, Fairy Pool, Rolling Stone Gorge Waterfall, Guanyin Temple's purple bamboo grove and the exit. The creek sections can be wet and slippery, so keep photographs and rest stops in safe areas. Do not leave the marked route to search for more remote pools.
A half-day to full-day leisure route
For a group outing, walk through the forest in the morning, have a picnic at the barbecue area or eat at the farm-style restaurant at midday, then choose activities such as mini golf, a bamboo raft, tea by a fire or an orienteering course. Check the opening status and extra charges for each activity; do not assume they are all included in the adult admission ticket.
Get there
Public transport and driving
For driving, search for “Zhongshan Xiaoyaogu Parking.” Bus routes K09, 213 and 216 stop at “Nanqiao Xiaoyaogu Station (南桥逍遥谷站),” followed by a short walk. Driving or taking a taxi to the gate is more convenient if you are carrying swimwear and spare clothes.
Parking and moving inside
The free car park near the entrance has around 50 spaces and can fill after 10:00 on weekends. If staff direct you to a private village car park, confirm the price and exact location first. The visit combines walking, creek activities and swimming, so you may need to change shoes or clothes; keep personal belongings with you rather than leaving them unattended by the water.
Know before you go
Shoes, tools and spare clothes
Creek stones can be covered with moss, so non-slip creek shoes are essential. Bring a small bucket, a net and at least two changes of clothes; tools sold on site may cost more. The park has only a small shop, so bring food and drinking water if you plan to stay for several hours.
Tickets, pools and seasonal projects
Adult admission usually includes the pool, but a child who enters free still pays an extra CNY 18 to swim. Lines may form for on-site tickets on weekends. Summer pools and water projects are usually more extensive, while winter or maintenance periods may bring changes; confirm the pool, children's area and projects available that day.
Signal, weather and facility expectations
Some rough walking paths have no mobile signal. Do not explore away from marked trails, and take extra care with slippery ground after rain. Xiaoyaogu is built around outdoor water play, so some facilities may feel dated. Visitors who want a polished resort experience should set expectations accordingly.
