Plan at a glance

Entrances, layout, and hours

Red Leaf Persimmon Cliff Resort is at No. 6 Heshangfang Village in Boshan District. Its main entrances are the East Gate and South Gate. The East Gate is closer to the core scenic area and involves less walking; the South Gate is closer to the Yanshenli food street but leads to a longer route after entry. Drivers can use the parking lots at both gates; parking is approximately CNY 10 per day.

The basic admission price is approximately CNY 60. Daytime hours are roughly 08:30–17:30, with last admission at 16:30; after 17:30, the park may switch to an evening session, with lights usually on until around 21:00. The internal sightseeing buses and rides cost extra. Allow about 3–4 hours for a quick route or 5–6 hours for a fuller visit.

Decide your walking and ride budget first

Sightseeing Bus Line 8 connects the East Gate with Yunqiao, at approximately CNY 25 one way. Line 1 connects the East and South Gates, at approximately CNY 10 one way. The two lines are charged separately and are not interchangeable, so decide your entrance, Yunqiao, and return direction before buying tickets.

The glass water slide, flying carpet, mountain coaster, and animal-interaction activities all cost extra. The flying carpet or sightseeing bus covers only designated sections; you still need to walk after getting off. Mountain paths, stairs, and queues for rides can also extend the actual visit.

Choose your visit

Mountain scenery and Shiyan Ancient Village

The One Thousand and One Nights area suits visitors who like architecture, lights, and evening photography. Shiyan Ancient Village, Yanshenli, and the mountain village scenery are better for a slower daytime walk. The Qi Great Wall and Mengyuan Tower are higher up and suit visitors who want more climbing and mountain views.

You can think of the resort as three types of experience: mountain scenery, an old-village district, and separately ticketed rides. Families with children may consider the animal interaction and mountain rides, while hikers can reduce their use of shuttles and keep more of the mountain walking route.

Night scenery and rides

The evening lights usually start after 17:30. If you want to see the lights in the One Thousand and One Nights area, aim to reach the core area around 19:00. The glass water slide is about 2 km long, while the mountain coaster runs downhill along a track. These rides require separate tickets, and availability can change with weather, maintenance, and daily operations.

Yanshen Ancient Town is about a 20-minute drive from Red Leaf Persimmon Cliff Resort. Yuanshan National Forest Park can also be another mountain stop in the Boshan area. Each attraction has its own tickets and operations; neither should be treated as an internal route within Red Leaf Persimmon Cliff Resort.

Build your day

A quick 3–4 hour route

Enter through the East Gate, take Line 8 to Yunqiao, walk to the One Thousand and One Nights area, then follow the mountain route downhill to Shiyan Ancient Village and Yanshenli. Finally, take Line 1 back to the East Gate or onward to the South Gate. This route focuses on the core scenery, old village, and street district, and suits visitors who do not plan to complete every summit ride.

If you plan to leave through the South Gate, include the walking time in that direction and the wait for Line 1 in your return plan. Evening visitors should also check the sightseeing-bus queue after reaching the core area, rather than leaving the final mountain section until just before closing.

A complete 5–6 hour route

After entering through the East Gate, take Line 8 to Yunqiao, then walk or change to the flying carpet uphill. Visit the Qi Great Wall and Mengyuan Tower, then choose the glass water slide or another downhill activity according to that day’s availability. After descending, visit Shiyan Ancient Village and Yanshenli, and finish with the mountain coaster or a walk to the exit.

There is still walking between the end of the flying carpet and the summit or rafting area. The glass rides and mountain coaster can also close temporarily. If queues are long, switch to walking and sightseeing buses, and keep enough time for the return journey.

Get there

Public transport and driving

From Zibo Railway Station, you can first take a bus to Boshan Coach Station and then change to a local bus or taxi; the public-transport connection takes time. By car, navigate to “Red Leaf Persimmon Cliff Resort” and choose the East or South parking lot according to your route for the day.

The East and South Gates serve different functions. Include the gate direction in your navigation plan instead of searching only for the attraction name. Inside the resort, movement mainly relies on walking, sightseeing buses, and paid rides, so calculate the time from the parking lot to the entrance and the return trip after leaving separately.

Know before you go

Tickets, queues, and ride availability

The basic ticket is approximately CNY 60. The sightseeing bus, glass water slide, flying carpet, mountain coaster, and animal interaction are charged separately. Reference prices are about CNY 80 for the water slide, CNY 30 for the flying carpet, CNY 60 for the mountain coaster, and CNY 58 for animal interaction. Package contents and ride availability follow that day’s sales arrangements.

The One Thousand and One Nights area may be crowded on weekends and public holidays, and both popular photo spots and return sightseeing buses may have queues. Glass rides may close temporarily for maintenance, weather, or on-site management reasons. Check which rides are open and what the ticket includes before buying.

Evening return and food

When the evening session ends, return vehicles may have concentrated queues. Night lighting on the mountain paths and your walking speed can also affect departure time. If you want to see the lights, consider eating before entering the core area, and confirm the sightseeing bus, taxi, and driving options before leaving.

Food inside the resort is mainly snacks and chain restaurants, and prices may be higher than outside. Around the resort, options include Xiangyang Barbecue, Fenghuangyuan Hotel, Taixinyuan, and Xilinju. Depending on your return direction, you can arrange Boshan-style dishes such as tofu boxes or fried pork.
