Shexiang Museum is free to enter. Common opening hours are 09:00-17:00, with last entry at 16:30. Allow 1-2 hours to understand Lady Shexiang, the Shuixi Tusi system, and Yi culture.
Tip:This museum is not mainly about a large number of rare artifacts. It is more useful for historical background.

See the Lady Shexiang section first, then the Yi culture displays
For a first visit, start with Lady Shexiang's life, the post-road network, and her role in Guizhou history. Then continue to the Yi history, writing, and folk culture displays. This order is easier than wandering through the galleries at random.
Tip:If you plan to visit Guizhou Xuanwei Mansion, seeing the museum first makes the route easier to understand.

Do not confuse it with other Shexiang-related sites
Dafang County has several Shexiang-related places, including Shexiang Museum, Guizhou Xuanwei Mansion, and Shexiang Ancient Town. They are close to each other but do not share the same entrance.
Tip:Check the destination before navigating, or you may circle around the county.

Shexiang Museum, Mu'ege Ancient City, and Guizhou Xuanwei Mansion fit well into one short route. History-focused travelers should enter the museum; photo-focused travelers can shorten the stay.
