What you will see

Maoshan Forest World is at 169 Maodong Forest Farm in Xuebu Town, Jintan District, Changzhou. The South Gate is the main ticket and activity entrance, about a five-minute walk from the rafting and stream areas. It suits families, visitors who enjoy forests and animal encounters, and anyone looking for summer water activities, photography and relaxed outdoor time.

A quick visit takes about 3–4 hours; allow a full day for the complete route. The reference base ticket is about CNY 150 and the child ticket about CNY 99. Jungle rafting usually costs extra at about CNY 120–150; the train, packages and other activities change the total budget, so review the product combination before buying.

Reference hours are 09:30–17:30, with possible extensions to around 21:00 on weekends and public holidays. The forest world is about a 15-minute drive from Oriental Salt Lake Resort, making a two-day combination possible, but the two are separate attractions with separate tickets.

Choose your visit

Rafting, stream walk and forest paths

The jungle rafting current is relatively gentle and much of the route is shaded, making water play a natural summer focus. The stream walk also gets you wet. Water activities are usually products outside the base ticket, and queues and operating status are affected by weather, crowds and on-site management.

Magic Black Forest has rainforest-style sets and a large cat sculpture, making it good for photos and a forest walk after water activities. Forest Grassland offers grass sledding; confirm whether it is included in the current ticket.

Small-animal encounters

Capybara House, Deer in the Woods and other small-animal areas suit families. You may see capybaras, sika deer and alpacas at close range, but animal activity and interaction arrangements change with time. Feeding follows staff instructions, and contact with a particular animal depends on conditions at that moment.

Build your day

About 3–4 hours: quick route

Enter through the South Gate, start with jungle rafting and the stream walk, walk to Magic Black Forest for photos, and finish at Forest Grassland for a rest or grass sledding. The rafting and stream areas are close together, so completing water activities first reduces long-distance movement in wet clothes.

If queues are long, visit Magic Black Forest and the grassland first, then return to the rafting area. Include changing clothes, storage and queue time in the route. The South Gate is close to the main water-activity area.

One-day highlights route

Spend the morning rafting and walking the stream from the South Gate, then have lunch or rest near Forest Grassland. In the afternoon, take the train or rent an electric cart to visit Capybara House, Deer in the Woods and Magic Black Forest, then return to the South Gate or leave by the route open that day.

The train is about CNY 39 per person with unlimited rides. Electric carts suit larger groups or visitors who cannot walk long distances. The park has slopes and steps, and families with very young children should not rely on a stroller for the full route.

Get there

Driving and the South Gate

Navigate to “Maoshan Forest World South Gate.” Parking is free and generally has adequate capacity. The South Gate is the main ticket office and is close to the rafting and stream areas; starting elsewhere adds wayfinding and walking time.

Before the water activities, put spare clothes, a towel and non-slip sandals somewhere easy to reach. Lockers at the rafting finish cost about CNY 5–10 per hour. Do not take valuables into the water-activity area.

High-speed rail and public transport

From Jintan Station, transfer by bus or taxi; a taxi takes about 35 minutes and costs about CNY 50–60. Public transport is less frequent than in the city, so visitors without a car should arrange the return vehicle first, especially if using extended opening hours.

Maoshan Forest World and Oriental Salt Lake Resort are about 15 minutes apart by car. They can be linked by car, but walking from one attraction to the other is not an executable route.

Know before you go

Tickets and extra spending

Admission, child tickets, rafting, the train, grass sledding and electric carts are priced separately. Reference prices are CNY 120–150 for rafting and about CNY 39 per person for the train. Packages include different activities, so include the activities your group wants when comparing them.

Food choices inside are limited and relatively expensive. Bring enough water and simple food, or plan the main meal outside the attraction or as part of a two-day Oriental Salt Lake itinerary.

Queues, hygiene and safety

Rafting queues may exceed one hour on weekends and public holidays. Arriving in the morning or avoiding the busiest period helps. Stream-water conditions, food service and some interactive activities are affected by crowds; continue only according to on-site hygiene and safety information.

There are many mosquitoes in the forest during summer, so bring repellent. Rafting and the stream walk get you wet; bring a complete change of clothes. The park has slopes and steps, so older adults, young children and visitors unused to long walks should use the train or shorten the route.
