What you will see
Oriental Salt Lake Resort · Tao World is at 9 Fanxian Road in Xuebu Town, Jintan District, Changzhou, with the Vermilion Bird Gate as the entrance. It combines Daofeng Street, themed courtyards, interactive games, family water activities and night performances in a resort-style attraction. It suits families, traditional-style photography enthusiasts, couples and visitors who enjoy immersive activities.
A quick visit takes about 3–4 hours. Allow one full day for daytime venues, water activities, interactive experiences and night programmes. Guests staying at the resort and exploring the Eight Courtyards and museums in depth can allow two days and one night. Oriental Salt Lake Resort and Maoshan Forest World sell separate tickets and work better as a two-day drive combination about 15 minutes apart than as a walking itinerary.
Tickets, sessions and night visits
The reference adult day ticket is about CNY 150, while the night ticket is usually cheaper; accommodation packages may include admission. Reference hours are 09:30–20:30 on weekdays and 09:30–21:30 on weekends and public holidays, but performances, night sessions and some water activities vary by date. Confirm the usable time period and inclusions for the day you buy.
The strongest programme is often at night. If you want “Xiaoyaoyou,” fireworks, water screens, Iron Flower or “Hip-Hop Tao,” check the programme and reservation method after entry before setting the daytime route. The headline evening performance may stop on Mondays; performance dates and sessions follow the day's arrangement.

Daofeng Street and themed courtyards
Daofeng Street, Taiji Square and Xiquan Pavilion make a useful first-visit route. Daofeng Street links several courtyards and food or rest points, Taiji Square is an important orientation and performance-waiting point, and Xiquan Pavilion's waterfall and towers work well for daytime photos.
The Eight Courtyards and Taoist-culture exhibition venues suit visitors interested in local culture, architecture and indoor displays. For a deeper visit, divide Qiantiangong, Lihuodian, Zhihuazhen and other courtyards into sections and choose a set of priorities.
Interactive, water and night experiences
The park has NPC-style interactive games, commonly including riddles and rock-paper-scissors. Winners may receive “silver notes” that can be exchanged for snacks or craft activities. Times, characters and redemption items change with the event schedule, so treat this as a flexible part of the day.
Water experiences such as Kanshuifa, Wangye Stream Valley and Kundigu are seasonal or ticket-dependent. Families can place water activities in the warmer part of the day, then return to indoor courtyards or the night route. Confirm whether these activities are included in the current ticket.
Photography and suitable visitors
Baiyun Lake is suited to distant mountain and sunset photos. The red lanterns of Daofeng Street work at night for lanes and architecture, while Xiquan Pavilion is good for waterfalls, mist and towers. Traditional-style photographers, hanfu visitors and families can set different photography, activity and family routes.
Build your day
About 3–4 hours: quick route
Enter through the Vermilion Bird Gate and walk first along Daofeng Street, then continue to Taiji Square. Choose Kundigu or another themed courtyard according to the day's operating status, and finish at venues such as Duiyancang. This route focuses on lanes, the square and representative courtyards, and suits visitors continuing to Maoshan Forest World or returning to Changzhou that day.
If you do not get a reservation for a popular show, use the time for Daofeng Street, Xiquan Pavilion and Baiyun Lake rather than crossing the park repeatedly for one seat. Before leaving, confirm the shuttle and car-park direction; the Vermilion Bird Gate and hotel parking area are different navigation targets.
One-day route
In the morning, start with Kanshuifa, the Spirit Pet Park or another activity that needs daylight. Have a simple meal in the park in the middle of the day, join an NPC activity in the afternoon and visit a small theatre. After securing a show reservation, return to Taiji Square or the designated viewing area in the evening and follow the programme for “Xiaoyaoyou” or another night performance.
Queues, changing clothes and performance entry all take time during a full-day route. Rafting queues may reach about one hour, and the intensity of the experience changes with water level, weather and crowds.
Two days and one night
After checking in on the first day, do the water activities and core venues, then attend a reserved evening programme. On the second day, take more time with the Eight Courtyards, Taoist Culture Museum and Chinese Sexual Culture Museum. Placing the evening show on the accommodation night reduces return pressure and leaves the next day for unfinished courtyards.
Maoshan Forest World is about a 15-minute drive away and works as a separate attraction for the second day. You need to drive between the two resorts and plan each route independently.
Get there
Driving and the Vermilion Bird Gate
Navigate to “Oriental Salt Lake Resort Tao World Car Park.” The reference parking cap is CNY 20 per day. A free shuttle takes about three minutes from the car park to the Vermilion Bird Gate; walking takes about 6–10 minutes. Hotel parking and visitor parking use different routes, and the Vermilion Bird Gate is the entrance rather than a parking-navigation target.
The entrance is the Vermilion Bird Gate. Complete ticket or accommodation verification on arrival, then check the day's performance reservations and park map. Include the shuttle, walk and entry queue in the time needed to reach the first activity.
High-speed rail and public transport
From Jintan Station, take Tourist Line 259; the reference ride is about 40 minutes. A direct tourist bus also runs from the north square of Changzhou Railway Station. If you want evening programmes, confirm the return transport and last service first.
The Jintan–Maoshan area is not connected to central Changzhou's metro network in the same way as the city attractions. Visitors without a car need to arrange the Jintan Station transfer, tourist line, shuttle and return journey; city walking assumptions do not apply here.
Know before you go
Show reservations and ticket types
Popular shows such as “Xiaoyaoyou” and “Hip-Hop Tao” may require a same-day reservation and have limited seats. If free tickets sell out, other seating products may appear on site. Handle reservations after entry before planning the remaining activities; queues and entry time are especially important on holidays.
Day tickets, night tickets, accommodation packages, water activities and show seats are separate products. Confirm inclusions in the ticket description rather than assuming that water activities, NPC interactions, drink upgrades or performances are free because they share the same attraction name.
Water, queues and return
Drinks inside the resort are relatively expensive, but free drinking-water points are available; bring a bottle. Popular rafting may have long queues, so families should bring spare clothes.
About a 10-minute drive outside the resort are restaurants such as Xiangyuanlou, which can be combined with the main meal and return journey. Crowds gather after night programmes, and the shuttle and car park may involve waiting, so do not schedule an immediate, overly tight transfer after leaving.
