How to Visit
1

Plan Shili River Beach as an open wetland route

Shili River Beach is free and open, not a small enclosed scenic area. It stretches along the Huaxi River and is best for walking, cycling, wetlands, and seasonal flowers.

Tip:If you only want a short stop, choose one entrance and walk for 1-2 hours. Do not force yourself to cover the full length.
2

Use Kongxuetang Station or Huaxi Park Station as your access point

Take Metro Line 3 to Kongxuetang Station and walk in from Exit B toward the south entrance area. You can also enter from the Huaxi Park Station side and combine Huaxi Park with Shili River Beach.

Tip:The two access points create different route styles. Decide first whether you want a wetland long walk or a route connected with Huaxi Park.
3

Choose between walking, cycling, and sightseeing carts

If you have good energy, walk slowly along the river path. If you want to cover more sections, rent a bike. If you do not want to get tired, use the sightseeing cart during daytime operating hours, but do not rely on it too late in the day.

Tip:The easiest mistake here is underestimating the distance.
4

Pick the focus by season instead of chasing everything

Spring is better for cherry blossoms and flower belts, summer for lotus, and autumn for rice fields and wetland colors. Outside flower seasons, it is still good for a walk, but do not expect large flower fields.

Tip:Weather, bloom timing, and water level all affect the experience. Shili River Beach is better for relaxed walking than for checklist sightseeing.
Highlights
  • Shili River Beach shows the relationship between wetlands, river scenery, and urban green space in southern Guiyang.
  • Cycling makes it easier to cover different sections than walking the whole way.
  • Summer lotus ponds and spring flower belts are the seasonal highlights.
  • Metasequoia groves, boardwalks, and riverside paths are good for slow detail photos.
  • It can be paired with Huaxi Park, Kongxuetang, or Yelang Valley for a Huaxi-area day.
Insider Tips

Do not treat Shili River Beach and Huaxi Park as one identical stop. They are connected, but the route logic is different.

Decide your exit point in advance, or you may keep walking farther than planned.

On sunny days, UV exposure is strong, and wetland areas have mosquitoes. Bring sun protection and repellent.

When cycling, avoid narrow crowded sections and do not stop in the middle of the path for photos.

Sightseeing carts and bike rentals are not reliable all-day services. If you arrive late, plan a short walking route.
