Treat Yangming Temple as a quiet city culture stop
Yangming Temple is free to visit. Use 09:00-18:00 as the opening window, with closure on Mondays. It works best as a slow 1-2 hour visit covering Wang Yangming Shrine, Yin Daozhen Shrine, Fufeng Temple, and the stele corridor.
Take Metro Line 2 to Yangming Temple Station
Exit from Yangming Temple Station on Metro Line 2 and walk to the site. Buses are also convenient, but parking nearby is limited, so driving is not recommended.
Follow Wang Yangming Shrine, Yin Daozhen Shrine, and Fufeng Temple
Start with Wang Yangming Shrine, then see Yin Daozhen Shrine and Fufeng Temple, and finish slowly around the stele corridor, courtyards, and tea area. This order makes the people, history, and space easier to understand.
Go in the afternoon for softer light and tea
Afternoon light is softer on the red walls, bamboo shadows, and old buildings. If you want to sit down for tea, the Fufeng Temple area is better for slowing the pace.
