Plan at a glance

Resort area and entry

Heyuan Bavarian Manor is in the Wandong Tourism Area on Longyuan Avenue, Gaopugang Subdistrict, Yuancheng District. The usual entrance is near the main gate and the European-style street. The grounds are large and include the European-style street, Fuyuan Temple, Black Forest Park, hot springs and a water park, so this should be treated as a resort area rather than a small single-site attraction.

Entry is usually free on ordinary days, while holiday activities may bring a ticket of about CNY 40. Advance reservations are not normally required. The grounds are open throughout the day, with 10:00–20:00 a useful visiting window; hot springs usually operate from 13:00 to 22:30, may start at 13:00 on weekday afternoons and may open from 09:00 on weekends.

Visit length

Allow about 2–3 hours for architecture and street photography. Combining Black Forest Park, the hot springs and the water park takes about 6–8 hours; visitors staying at the resort and adding family activities can consider two days and one night.

Choose your visit

The European-style street and architecture

Colourful castles, windmills, the Bavarian Bridge and the European-style street form the most accessible part of the manor. It suits couples, families and architecture photographers; late afternoon usually has softer light, although the result depends on the weather.

Hot springs and resort facilities

The Chinese medicine hot spring has many themed pools, a heated swimming pool and steam facilities, and is sold as a separate resort product. It suits visitors who want a slower stay, but the hot-spring ticket, open pools and the use of hotel-issued tickets have separate rules.

Black Forest Park and Fuyuan Temple

Black Forest Park includes a cable car, slides and other attractions, while Fuyuan Temple offers a quieter architectural and religious visit. The park attractions, cable car, hot spring and admission have different fee boundaries, so families can choose according to the children’s interests rather than assuming that every project must be included.

Build your day

A 2–3 hour architecture visit

Start at the Bavarian Bridge and colourful castles, continue to the windmills and Fuyuan Temple, and finish with a walk and meal on the European-style street. Allow about 2–3 hours; the grounds are large, so use the sightseeing bus when available to reduce the walking between sections.

A 6–8 hour hot-spring and park day

Use the morning for the cable car and open attractions in Black Forest Park, eat lunch, then spend the afternoon at the hot springs or water park before returning to the street for the evening view. The park, hot springs and water activities are normally separate products, and opening hours can change, so confirm what is operating before buying a package.

The magic show usually has one performance around 15:30–16:00, but this must be confirmed on the day. If you want to see it, check the time before committing to the earlier attractions rather than changing the day at the last minute.

A two-day resort stay

On day one, check into the hotel, visit Black Forest Park, see the show or night view and use the hot springs. On day two, visit Fuyuan Temple, Huayangu Happy Countryside or Mengye Camp before leaving; accommodation, hot springs, the water park and amusement facilities are charged separately, and the room choice should match the facilities available that day.

Get there

Driving and parking

Driving from Guangzhou or Shenzhen takes about 2–3 hours. The resort has several parking areas, usually costing about CNY 10 per day, while some hotels may offer free parking; Wanlv Lake, Qizhai Lake and Yequgou are separate driving stops rather than nearby sections of the manor.

High-speed rail and city buses

From Heyuan East Railway Station, a taxi to the manor takes about 20–30 minutes. Bus 112 serves the area, and the resort has a sightseeing bus costing about CNY 10 per person; because the grounds are large, combine walking and the bus according to the day’s stops and service.

Know before you go

Tickets and facility conditions

Entry is usually free on ordinary days but may become paid during holiday events. Hot springs, Black Forest Park, the water park, the cable car and some rides usually cost extra; facilities, maintenance and holiday entry rules may change, so check what a package actually includes before buying.

Hotel-provided hot-spring tickets usually allow one entry and exit, and another entry may require a new ticket. Pool areas and park facilities can also change during maintenance, so one ticket should not be treated as access to every pool or attraction.

Food, accommodation and timing

Some resort shops may be closed, and food choices and prices vary by time of day; families may want to bring simple snacks. Performances and hot-spring visits need to fit the operating schedule, which may differ between weekdays and weekends; in hot weather, leave outdoor photography until after 16:00 because the grounds are very sunny earlier.

The manor can be combined with Wanlv Lake, Taiping Ancient Street, Qizhai Lake or Yequgou, but the distances and types of experience differ. Decide the accommodation, parking and return direction first rather than assuming that all Heyuan attractions are close to one another.
