Plan at a glance
Choose the train or self-drive route first
Mordaoga National Forest Park (莫尔道嘎国家森林公园) is about 11 km outside Mordaoga Town. Set your navigation destination to the entrance of “莫尔道嘎国家森林公园” (Mordaoga National Forest Park), not the town center. As of 2026-10-20, the park’s public operating page lists it as closed, with reopening date to be announced; do not plan an in-park train or driving visit before a reopening notice is issued.
Tickets and opening hours after reopening
Reference prices are CNY 100 for admission and CNY 100 for the forest train, or about CNY 130–150 for a bundle. Reference hours are 08:30–17:30; none of these details has been confirmed in a current notice. If the park reopens, check the season, areas open that day, ticket sales, and train service before choosing a ticket.
Senior and child discounts may be calculated separately for admission and the train. If the park reopens, bring valid ID and check what is included in the entry ticket, train ticket, and bundle.

Choose your visit
Drive to Yimu Jiuling and Hongdou Slope
The Yimu Jiuling (一目九岭) viewpoint looks out over continuous forest, and Hongdou Slope (红豆坡) is another stop along the park’s internal road. Both are on the self-drive sightseeing route, not stops on the forest train. If the park reopens, follow its one-way road and stop only at designated parking areas that are open, then use the corresponding open trails.
Four stops on the forest train
The forest-train route is about 9.873 km and takes around 1 hour 40 minutes, stopping at Linhai Songyun (林海松韵), Huayuan Linhai (花园林海), Linxi Shuipan (林溪水畔), and Senlin Muchang (森林牧场). Linhai Songyun looks out over the forest; Linxi Shuipan offers stream and woodland views. Check the train’s reopening schedule for stop durations and whether you can get off and board a later train.
Linxi Shuipan and Senlin Muchang
Linxi Shuipan and Senlin Muchang are stops on the train line, with scenery that shifts among streams, wetlands, low shrubs, and forest. Check the day’s notice for open station activities, including animal interactions, and whether they cost extra. Yimu Jiuling and Hongdou Slope require the self-drive route; do not plan them as train stops.
Build your day
Full train ride if the park and train have reopened
After the park reopens and the train is operating that day, buy a ticket at the station and take the full 9.87 km route past Linhai Songyun, Huayuan Linhai, Linxi Shuipan, and Senlin Muchang, then return to the starting point on the scheduled service. The ride takes about 100 minutes. Confirm the operating season, queues, and last train after reopening.
Drive to Yimu Jiuling after reopening
From the park entrance, follow the internal one-way road to the Yimu Jiuling viewpoint, stopping only at marked open parking areas, then continue to the exit. The self-drive sightseeing route is about 25 km and takes around 1.5–2 hours; actual time depends on the road and how long you stop. After reopening, confirm the route on the park map.
Choose one route for a half-day
The full train route takes about 100 minutes; the self-drive route is about 25 km and 1.5–2 hours, excluding queues, transfers, and walking. For a half-day visit, choose one. If you want to do both, plan a full day rather than estimating 3–4 hours, and first check which areas are open, train departures, and return rules after getting off at a station.
Get there
Go to Mordaoga Town first
Navigate directly to the “莫尔道嘎国家森林公园” (Mordaoga National Forest Park) entrance, about 11 km outside Mordaoga Town; the town center is not the park entrance. You can take a taxi or hire a car in town. There is no direct public transport; arrange rides to and from the park only after confirming it has reopened.
Parking and navigation in the forest
If the park reopens, park as directed at the entrance. Mobile reception is weak in the forest, so download an offline map before entering. Follow one-way signs when driving, stop only in designated parking areas, and leave by the signed exit route.
Know before you go
Peak-season train queues and getting off en route
After confirming the park has reopened, check the operating season, train departures, queues, and last train for that day. Peak-season waits have sometimes exceeded 2 hours, and a seat may not be available if you get off mid-route. If your return seat is not confirmed, stay on for the complete train ride.
Walking and mobile service in the forest
Mobile service is very weak deep in the forest. Save an offline map and agree on a meeting point with your group in advance. Mosquitoes are common; wear long sleeves and trousers and bring repellent. Return from viewpoints and boardwalks on open routes; do not enter closed forest or unopened side trails.
Sunset in town and places beyond the park
Longshan Park is in Mordaoga Town and can be a separate sunset stop. Genbai Road, Yingzui (“Eagle Beak”), Taiping Village, Linjiang, and Shiwei are outside the park; plan them separately according to their own distances and road conditions.
