How to Visit
1

Decide walk or cableway from the station

The climb from the parking area can take 1-1.5 hours for many visitors. Use the cableway if you need to save time or knees.

Tip:The walk is scenic but not flat.
2

Focus on the beamless brick hall

The main reason to enter is the historic Beamless Brick Hall and the bronze Samantabhadra-on-elephant statue.

Tip:This is one of Emei's most important temple stops.
3

Connect it to a lower mountain route

After Wannian Temple, active travelers can continue down toward Qingyin Pavilion and the gorge areas instead of returning immediately.

Tip:Check time and weather before adding the descent.
4

Protect your knees on the way down

The route involves steps, slopes, and wet stone in places. Use poles or slow pacing if descending toward Qingyin Pavilion.

Tip:Rain makes this section harder.
Highlights
  • Major historic temple on Mount Emei
  • Beamless Brick Hall and Song-dynasty bronze Samantabhadra statue
  • Useful middle-mountain stop between bus routes and hiking paths
  • Choice of walking or cableway access
  • Good pairing with Qingyin Pavilion for a deeper lower-mountain day
Insider Tips

Bring small cashless payment readiness for the temple ticket.

Use the cableway if you are saving energy for Golden Summit later.

Wear shoes that handle wet steps.

Allow more time than the map suggests if visiting with older travelers.

Do not try to add every Emei temple in one day.
