Plan at a glance
Confirm opening before planning the visit
Weihushan National Forest Park is in Hongsheng Forest Farm under the Chaihe Forestry Bureau, Hailin. Use “Weihushan National Forest Park” or “Weihushan Xiaojiuzhai Scenic Area” as the navigation destination. Flood damage may have affected facilities in core Xiaojiuzhai, with a possibility of closure throughout 2026; do not plan a normal scenic-area visit until opening is confirmed.
Ticket and time references
If the park is confirmed open, admission is about CNY 50–80, the sightseeing bus about CNY 30 and the glass walkway about CNY 50. Use 07:30–17:00 and 15:30 as the latest-entry reference, with no reservation required. Reconfirm prices, transfers and opening hours at the entrance that day.

Choose your visit
Streams, waterfalls and boardwalks
Lovers' Peak, Ginseng Spring, Dragon Pool Waterfall and Water Curtain Cave form the main natural route. The forest and streams are suitable for summer walks and escaping the heat. Water levels, boardwalks and facilities depend on the operating status, so until opening is confirmed, treat these as possible sights only.
Weihushan Exhibition Hall
The Weihushan Exhibition Hall covers *Tracks in the Snowy Forest* and the history of bandit suppression, making it different from the film-set visit at Weihushan Film City. Historical displays and nature trails can fit into the same day, but confirm the hall's opening and its transfer connection with the core area after arrival.
Choosing the route intensity
The complete route suits hikers, forest photographers, families and visitors seeking a cool summer outing. Mountain roads, steps and paths beside streams are less suitable for visitors with limited mobility. If Xiaojiuzhai is closed, the film city cannot replace the forest park; switch to another attraction whose opening is confirmed.
Build your day
The approximately 2-hour short route
From the entrance, take the park bus to the core area. Walk in the order of Lovers' Peak, Ginseng Spring and Water Curtain Cave, then descend along the boardwalk, pass the stream scenery and return to the transfer point. Even after opening is confirmed, ask where the bus stops that day and when the last departure leaves.
The 3–4-hour complete route
After entering, take the bus to Lovers' Peak, walk to Ginseng Spring and Dragon Pool Waterfall, then transfer to an electric shuttle for the Weihushan Exhibition Hall. Finally, walk or take the electric shuttle to the descending boardwalk and return to the car park. Confirm at the entrance whether the glass walkway is open and whether it requires a separate ticket.
What to do if the core area is closed
If core Xiaojiuzhai remains closed, do not purchase the related sightseeing-bus or glass-walkway projects. Leave the park or go to Weihushan Film City after confirming that it is operating. The two attractions are different in location and product, so recalculate driving time and tickets when making a last-minute substitution.
Get there
Mountain driving or bus service
Driving from central Mudanjiang takes about 1.5–2 hours and from Harbin about 4 hours, with many bends on the mountain roads. Tourist buses or regular buses can be checked at Mudanjiang Coach Station. There is no metro service; before a long journey, confirm that the entrance is open so you do not reach the end of the mountain road only to find that entry is unavailable.
Park buses, electric shuttles and parking
The park is large and, when open, buses and electric shuttles usually connect the core areas. There is a car park at the entrance. Commercial facilities inside are limited; after opening is confirmed, carry enough drinking water and snacks for the route, and include the transfer time between the car park and attractions in your return plan.
Know before you go
Flood damage and operating checks
Flood damage may have affected facilities in core Xiaojiuzhai and led to closure. The 07:30–17:00 opening reference and 15:30 latest-entry reference come from an earlier arrangement and do not establish current operation. Before leaving, confirm the status of the whole park, core area, exhibition hall, transfers and glass walkway separately.
Mountain roads, slippery ground and forest safety
The mountain road has many bends; anyone prone to motion sickness should prepare in advance. Wear non-slip shoes near streams, waterfalls and boardwalks, and slow down after rain. Snakes may be present in the forest, so stay on designated trails and away from dangerous water edges.
Meals and combining attractions
Supplies inside the park are limited. Look for iron-pot stew in Chaihe Moon Town or meals near the visitor centre. Weihushan Film City is a separate attraction; if you want to visit both, confirm the forest park's status first, then decide whether the film city fits according to your vehicle and stamina.
