The memorial hall and cemetery entrance
Yang Zirong Martyrs Cemetery is at No. 1 Zirong Street in Hailin, Mudanjiang. The entrance is beside the street, and the memorial hall connects directly with the cemetery. Drivers can park at the entrance, then follow the indoor displays before walking to the hilltop Revolutionary Martyrs Monument and the martyr's tomb.
Free admission, with a long lunch break
Admission is free, no reservation is required, and visitors register on site. Morning hours are 08:30–11:30, with entry stopping at 11:00; afternoon hours are 13:30–17:00, with entry stopping at 16:00. The site closes for lunch from 11:30–13:30, and visitors cannot enter during that break.

Yang Zirong Memorial Hall
The memorial hall presents Yang Zirong's story and the background to the creation of *Tracks in the Snowy Forest* through historical materials and displays. It is a useful first stop for understanding the visit. The galleries are primarily historical; follow the panel sequence and do not treat the memorial hall as an entertainment film set.
The monument and martyr's tomb
The monument stands higher up in the cemetery and is reached by the main path and steps. Yang Zirong's tomb is along the hilltop route. The outdoor section requires climbing stairs; walk slowly according to the conditions after snow or rain and first make sure everyone in your group can manage the steps.
Hall first or hill first
Visitors interested in revolutionary history, local history and *Tracks in the Snowy Forest* can allow 1–1.5 hours. Those making a short memorial visit can take only the hilltop route, but should still avoid the lunch break and last-entry times.

The 1–1.5-hour complete route
After entering, visit the Yang Zirong Memorial Hall on the right, then follow the main path uphill to the Revolutionary Martyrs Monument and Yang Zirong's tomb before descending the same way. Separating gallery reading from the stair walk makes it easier to leave before closing.
The approximately 30-minute short route
For a short stop, follow the main path directly uphill from the entrance, see the monument and tomb, and return. The reference last-entry times are 11:00 in the morning and 16:00 in the afternoon; even the short route should not start in the final few minutes.
Morning or afternoon visit
In the morning, enter after the 08:30 opening, visit the memorial hall and then climb the hill. In the afternoon, enter after 13:30 and work backwards from the 16:00 last entry. The 11:30–13:30 period is the cemetery's lunch closure; a visit to Bao'en Temple or a meal does not count as time within the cemetery's opening hours.
Get there
Hailin Station and city roads
Bus Route 3 runs from Hailin Station to the cemetery; confirm the stop after arrival. Driving from central Mudanjiang along the G10 Suiman Expressway takes about 1–1.5 hours. There is no metro service, and public-transport return times require attention to the schedule.
Parking and walking
There is a car park at the cemetery entrance. The route from the hall to the hilltop monument and tomb is mainly on foot and steps. Wear non-slip shoes in snow, and with older adults, visit the memorial hall first before deciding whether to continue uphill.
Know before you go
Lunch closure and last entry
The site closes for a two-hour lunch break. Entry stops at 11:00 in the morning and 16:00 in the afternoon, while the afternoon closing time is 17:00. Include driving, registration and indoor viewing within the open periods rather than planning it as an all-day attraction.
Memorial-site etiquette
Keep quiet in the cemetery and memorial hall, and follow the main path, gallery route and grave-area route. Do not shout, make disrespectful gestures or stage entertaining photos at the tomb or monument. Photography is limited to areas permitted on site.
Bao'en Temple and food in Hailin
Bao'en Temple is about 400 metres from the cemetery; confirm its opening and visitor requirements on arrival, as it is a different site. Back in Hailin, look for Korean-style beef soup with rice or malatang, and schedule the meal so that it does not make you miss the cemetery's next entry period after lunch.
