Choose your visit

Central hall, banquet hall and glass conservatory

The high-ceilinged central hall and its copper-and-crystal chandelier are the main interior highlights. The banquet hall retains furnishings such as a piano and fireplace. The glass conservatory, governor's office, and the study, bedrooms and nursery on the third floor suit visitors interested in architectural details and historic domestic spaces.

Terrace, spiral staircase and wine cellar

The third-floor terrace looks over red-tiled roofs and the old town. The spiral staircase and underground wine cellar show how the building's spaces connect. This is a good choice for architecture, history and photography enthusiasts; if your companions are less interested in historic interiors, use the shorter route.

Build your day

The 1.5–2 hour complete route

Enter on the second floor and continue through the central hall, banquet hall, glass conservatory, governor's office and third-floor living areas. Then go to the third-floor terrace, take the spiral staircase down to the basement wine cellar, and leave through the rear garden. The route includes stairs, so follow the museum's circulation path.

The 30–50 minute short route

When time is limited, focus first on the second-floor hall, crystal chandelier, banquet hall and glass conservatory. Then take the spiral staircase to the basement wine cellar and leave. Signal Hill works well as the next stop, but allow separate time for the climb and the interior visit.

Get there

Metro and bus

Take Metro Line 4 to Signal Hill (Qingdao University Affiliated Hospital) Station and walk about 6 minutes from Exit B2. Buses 220 and 228 also stop at “Qingdao Medical University Affiliated Hospital”; walk from there to 26 Longshan Road.

Old-town roads and parking

The surrounding roads are narrow and some are one-way, with limited parking. If driving, use “Longshan Civil Defense Parking Lot” as the parking destination, then walk the remaining distance to the museum entrance.
