Free marina and public waterfront
The Olympic Sailing Center is at 86 Macau Road in Shinan District. Its public areas are free and can be entered on foot throughout the day. Flag Plaza, the sailing marina and Lover's Dam make up the main area; a complete walk takes about 2–3 hours. Sailing trips, the museum and climbing the lighthouse are separate activities.
Museum, lighthouse and boat activities
The Olympic Sailing Museum costs about CNY 30 and usually requires advance reservation. Since July 2024, Lover's Dam Lighthouse has been free to enter, but named reservation through the “Romantic Courtesy of Sea Vows and Mountain Alliances” mini program is required and places are limited. Sailing, sightseeing boats and other water activities are charged separately; check the day's departures and weather before setting out.

Flag Plaza and the sailing marina
Flag Plaza has 54 flagpoles and the Olympic rings. Along the marina, you can see different types of sailboats and yachts. The public areas are free and suit visitors who want to see the sea, photograph the skyline and experience the marina atmosphere.
Lover's Dam and the view from the water
Lover's Dam extends out into the sea, ending at a white lighthouse that is the main landmark. Evening is good for sunset and city-light photos. Visitors prone to seasickness, or those traveling with older people or children, may prefer a steadier large sightseeing boat; professional sailing boats tilt and bounce more noticeably, so choose according to your group.

The 2–3 hour marina route
Enter through Gate 1 or the visitor center, walk across Flag Plaza to the Olympic rings, continue to the sailing marina, then follow Lover's Dam to the lighthouse. Schedule a boat trip after visiting the marina. In the evening, return to Lover's Dam or the marina to watch the sunset and Fushan Bay lights.
The 40–60 minute short route
Start at the visitor center, walk quickly to Flag Plaza for photos, then follow Lover's Dam to the foot of the lighthouse. You can complete the main walk without climbing the tower. If lighthouse reservations are full, the public breakwater and marina remain open, so the free-area route is unchanged.
Get there
Metro and bus
Take Metro Line 2 or Line 3 to May 4th Square Station and walk about 10 minutes from Exit C or D. Alternatively, take Metro Line 2 to Yan'erdao Road Station and walk about 5 minutes from Exit A. Buses 601, 225, 210 and 402, among others, stop at “May Fourth Square” or “Olympic Sailing Center.”
Driving and parking
If driving, navigate to “Olympic Ocean Culture Tourism Area Ground Parking Lot – Gate 3,” then walk to the visitor center or Gate 1. The light show and weekend crowds add to parking and departure times at night; public transport is easier for a sea-and-lights visit.

The public area is free. The Olympic Sailing Museum costs about CNY 30 and requires reservation; the lighthouse is free but also requires named reservation, with limited places. Sailing, sightseeing boats and the lighthouse use separate arrangements, and boat trips depend on weather, wind and the day's departures.
Sea wind and seasickness
There is little shelter along the waterfront, so bring a light jacket on spring and autumn mornings and evenings and use sun protection during the day. Sailing boats move more than large sightseeing boats; anyone prone to seasickness should prepare medicine. Check the operator, price and return time before buying a boat ticket from a street promoter.
