A short architectural stop in the old town

Regular visits and Mass

From Tuesday to Saturday, regular visiting hours are 08:30–17:00, with last entry at 16:30. On Sunday, regular visits are 12:00–17:00; the cathedral is closed on Mondays. Choose your visit

Twin towers, dome and stained glass

From the square, look at the twin towers and the Gothic and Romanesque architectural details. Inside, you can see the dome, religious murals and rose windows. The interior does not take long, so decide whether to buy a ticket according to your interest.

Architectural photography and worship etiquette

The cathedral suits architecture, photography and old-town history enthusiasts. The square, twin towers and the red frame installation on the Zhongshan Road side are common photo spots. During Sunday Mass, follow the worship service, do not take photos or make noise, and observe the same etiquette during regular visits.

Build your day

The 30–50 minute cathedral visit

Leave Metro Line 1 at Zhongshan Road Station, walk from Exit D to the cathedral square, view the exterior first, then decide whether to buy an interior ticket. The interior usually takes about 10–15 minutes. Afterward, continue on foot along Feicheng Road and Zhongshan Road.

A 2–3 hour old-town combination

Walk from Zhanqiao to the cathedral, visit the exterior and interior, then continue to Zhongshan Road Commercial Street or Signal Hill. The cathedral itself is suited to a short stop; keep the focus on its architectural details and the etiquette requirements, then set the rest of the route around your next stop and the time of day.

Get there

Metro walk

Take Metro Line 1 to Zhongshan Road Station and walk about 6 minutes from Exit D. You can also take Metro Line 3 to Qingdao Railway Station and walk about 10–15 minutes from Exit D.

Bus and parking

Buses 2, 5, 301, 305 and 320, among others, stop at “Zhejiang Road Catholic Church.” The old-town roads are narrow and parking is limited, so driving is not the first-choice way to arrive.
