Plan at a glance
An open lakeside park
Laodong Lake is in Jianhua District, with several entrances along its waterfront paths and no single ticket gate. The park is free and requires no booking; the lakeside paths are generally accessible throughout the day. Check lighting for the specific bridge section and conditions on site before walking there at night.
Visit length and route options
Allow about 30–40 minutes to see the lights and reflections around Xihong Bridge / Xiongying Bridge (西虹桥 / 雄鹰桥). For a longer walk along the bridge paths, start at Caihong Feihe Bridge (彩虹飞鹤桥) and head south to Yuanjian Bridge (园建桥). The walk takes about 90 minutes; allow 1.5–2 hours in total. Since the start and finish are different, decide whether to retrace your steps or arrange a pickup before setting out.

Night views at Xihong Bridge / Xiongying Bridge
Xihong Bridge / Xiongying Bridge is one of Laodong Lake’s signature night views, with lights on the bridge reflected in the water. If time is limited, walk a short section on and beside the bridge.
Beida Bridge and the lakeside path
Beida Bridge / Yunjian Bridge (北大桥 / 运建桥) offers a different city view, with traffic crossing above the nighttime lake. The lakeside path also connects with Caihong Feihe Bridge and Yuanjian Bridge. From the safe walking path, you can photograph traffic light trails and reflections on the water at Beida Bridge; at Xihong Bridge, the illuminated bridge and reflections are the main draw. Laodong Lake is known for its bridges and night views, while Nenjiang Park has open riverfront scenery and Longsha Park has gardens and historic sites.
Who will enjoy it
Laodong Lake suits an after-dinner walk, bridge photography or a relaxed jog. The full route involves a longer walk and requires planning how to leave from one end of the lake. For bridge lights or sunset, choose a short section around one bridge.
Weekends and summer evenings may bring more visitors. Adjust how far you walk to the crowd conditions on site. From around Longsha Park, you can enter a nearby section of the lakeside path and choose a turnaround point based on the conditions, your stamina and the time available.
Build your day
Short visit: around Xihong Bridge
Navigate to Xihong Bridge / Xiongying Bridge and enter from the lakeside path. View the lights and reflections from the bridge and shore, then return the same way. Allow about 30–40 minutes. If lighting is poor or there is heavy pedestrian or vehicle traffic at night, stay on open paths and do not take photos from the bridge traffic lanes.
Full visit: follow the bridges from north to south
Enter near Caihong Feihe Bridge and walk south past Beida Bridge / Yunjian Bridge and Xihong Bridge / Xiongying Bridge, continuing to Yuanjian Bridge. Stop along the way for photos. The walk is listed at about 90 minutes; allow 1.5–2 hours in total. The endpoint differs from the starting point, so arrange either a pickup or a return walk before you go.
Night lighting and the return trip
Before a night walk, check lighting and exits along the route you plan to take. There is no unified lighting schedule or fixed shuttle service along the lake. If lighting is poor, a path is closed or return transport is uncertain, turn back to a familiar entrance rather than continuing in the dark.
Get there
Bus and navigation points
Buses serve the areas around the “Second Factory Hospital” and “Qida Shopping Center” stops; walk from there to a lakeside path. You can also navigate to “Laodong Lake” or a specific bridge, then choose an entrance for your short or full route. Laodong Lake passes through or lies near Longsha Park; if you enter the lake path from the park area, plan the bridge route and return trip separately.
Driving and lakeside parking
Parking along the lake is limited and may be tight on weekends and at night. If driving, first find a space near your planned entrance. Check on site whether nearby shopping-center parking is open to the public and what it costs. If the full route ends at the other side of the lake, arrange transport back to your car.
Know before you go
Mosquitoes, ice and bridge photography
There are many mosquitoes by the lake in summer; bring repellent before an evening walk. In winter, do not enter the frozen lake unless access has been explicitly opened and confirmed safe. Take photos from the walking path or other permitted areas, not the vehicle lanes.
Food and nearby parks
Barbecue stalls and a night market may operate by the lake in summer, but hours and stall locations vary by season. Check whether Qi Han Yang Jia Halal Barbecue and Lutun Yitou Niu Barbecue are open before visiting. Longsha Park and Nenjiang Park have separate routes for gardens and historic sites or riverside walks.
