Plan at a glance

Learn about Manchu culture in Tonghua

The exhibition hall covers Manchu customs, work and daily life, arts, food, clothing, housing and intangible cultural heritage. A reposted notice dated 15 July 2026 says the hall resumed normal opening after a safety inspection, but gives no daily hours or last-entry time. Confirm opening and entry arrangements on the day you visit.

Tickets and visit details

Choose your visit

See the folk customs gallery and history corridor

A 2025 report describes a Manchu Folk Customs Gallery and a Historical Culture Corridor, using objects, reconstructed scenes and illustrated displays. The reported themes include Manchu origins and development, traditional clothing, festivals and everyday skills. Choose the topics that interest you.

Look for Manchu paper-cutting

A Jilin tourism programme records a paper-cutting workshop led by Sun Wei, an inheritor of Changbai Mountain Manchu appliqué embroidery and paper-cutting. This was a dated event; ask whether another session is scheduled if you want to take part.

For broader local-history collections in Tonghua, see Tonghua Museum.

Build your day

Follow the areas open that day

A 2025 group visit went first to the Manchu Folk Customs Gallery and then to the Historical Culture Corridor. Individual visitors can follow the areas open and the directions given on site.

Get there

Confirm the map pin and entrance

A provincial itinerary lists the Tonghua Manchu Culture Exhibition Hall by name. Check the map pin and entrance before travelling; the nearby Manchu Folk Park and Wanfabozi archaeological site (万发拨子遗址) have separate boundaries.

Ask whether the nearby parking lot is available

An urban-district government response records an 800-square-metre parking lot inside Manchu Folk Park. Confirm whether exhibition-hall visitors can use it and whether a fee applies.

Know before you go

Confirm operating details before setting out

A district report describes a group visit accompanied by a guide but does not say whether individual visitors can book one. Ask the hall about guided tours, step-free access and elevators before travelling. Follow its current photography rules.

Keep the hall and archaeological site separate

Wanfabozi is a nationally protected archaeological site. A road currently crosses the site and separates its eastern and western areas; visitor roads and safety facilities are still being developed. The Manchu Folk Park, archaeological site and exhibition hall each have their own boundaries. Confirm which parts of the ruins park and archaeological site are open to visitors.
