How to Visit
1

Set aside half a day for the cave

Jiulong Cave is in Yangtou Town, Bijiang District, not too far from downtown Tongren. It works as a half-day karst cave visit. It is easier than Fanjingshan, but still includes slopes, steps, and damp cave paths.

Tip:Do not treat it as a purely indoor exhibition. You still need to walk and transfer before and after the cave.
2

Separate the ticket and sightseeing bus

Adult admission commonly starts from CNY 70, the round-trip sightseeing bus from CNY 16, and a ticket-plus-bus package from around CNY 75.9. From April to October, common opening hours are 08:00-16:40; winter hours are shorter.

Tip:If you only look at the entrance ticket, you may miss the bus cost. With older visitors or children, the bus saves energy.
3

Go into the cave first for the main halls

After entering the scenic area, do the main cave route first: Dragon Palace Hall, stone pillars, stalagmites, and lit sections. The cave is cool and humid, so walking slowly is more comfortable than rushing.

Tip:Do not touch stalactites for photos, and do not run on the steps or wet floor.
4

Arrange the return ride early

Self-driving is easiest. From downtown Tongren, you can also use a taxi or a bus toward Yangtou, but return transport is less flexible than in the city.

Tip:Do not wait until late afternoon to gamble on public transport, especially in low season or on weekdays.
Highlights
  • Dragon Palace Hall is the main visual point inside Jiulong Cave.
  • Dense stone pillars, stalagmites, and stalactites make it useful for visitors interested in karst caves.
  • The cave is cool in summer, more comfortable than city heat or mountain roads.
  • Its location near downtown Tongren makes it easy to pair with Tongren Ancient City or Daming Border Town.
  • For visitors who have never seen a large cave, Jiulong Cave feels more complete than a small local cavern.
Insider Tips

The cave stays cool, so bring a light jacket even in summer.

Wear non-slip shoes; high heels, sandals, and smooth soles are poor choices.

The service experience may not feel as polished as Guizhou's top caves, so focus on the natural cave rather than expecting refined management.

During holidays, online tickets may still need exchange at the window, so allow some queue time.

If you already plan to visit a major cave such as Zhijin Cave, treat Jiulong Cave as an optional Tongren-area backup.
